The end of a storyline is nigh and we say goodbye to a few characters tonight. Some loved, some not so loved. Season five has been lacking something crucial that it had at the start; has the episode helped to find its feet once again? by Gemma Williams The Vampire Diaries is heating up after the last major cliff-hanger. Damon is forced into in a new, terrifying way of life, Tyler discovered Caroline’s secret thanks to a sneaky Katherine and Elena is nowhere to be seen. By Gemma Williams Suffice it to say, this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries was much more entertaining than the previous. The only good part of last week was Damon giving up. As he so appropriately said ‘I’m better like this.’ Yes, yes you are, Damon. By Gemma Williams Last week was the epic 100th episode milestone for The Vampire Diaries. It opened up a new, major story arch for the rest of the season which was more fully introduced this week. This also marks the half way line for the season. By Gemma Williams The Vampire Diaries is now on its fifth season, which can only mean one thing. 100 episodes! A great deal of shows do not manage to hit this milestone so it’s worth celebrating such an achievement! It would not be possible without such talented writers and believable actors. The have managed to draw the audience in and keep them interested for 100 episodes, and judging by the story line this week, many more episodes to come. By Gemma Williams It has been revealed that the Vampire Diaries will be adding another new character this season: Luke. Although he has not yet been cast as far as we know, it has been released that he will become close to Caroline, but probably not in the way that you think. By Gemma Williams The Vampire Diaries is back with episode nine and it promises to be an exciting episode with, wait for it … answers! We finally get to find out about the Augustine experiments. The episode delves into Damon’s past and Aaron finally discovers his family legacy which may or may not be a good thing for Damon and Elena. There will be torture, personal demons and some passionate kissing so keep on reading! By Gemma Williams This latest episode will wrap up a few on-going storylines in surprising ways so be prepared as things in Mystic Falls are going to change. The Silas and Amara storyline will finish as well as a surprising aspect to Bonnie’s resurrection. It will get slightly confusing as there are now three versions of Nina running around the set but it works, and it works well. By Gemma Williams Last time, on The Vampire Diaries, a lot bad things happened to all of our favourite characters. Isn’t that just the way of the show? I could start every article for the show exactly the same way. This episode doesn’t promise to be any kinder to our beloved friends but it does delve into Silas’ past which is interesting but a little predictable. This episode is emotional and heavy, so get your tissues ready! By Gemma Williams In true Vampire Diaries fashion, last week’s season premiere ended with everybody in a bad state; Stefan was constantly dying and reviving with the temptation of turning off his emotions becoming greater; the relationship between Damon and Elena was questioned when Damon couldn’t risk Katherine dying; Katherine was badly injured after the crash; Jeremy almost died (again); Caroline received a heart breaking message from Tyler after her new roommate fell to her death; and Ghost Bonnie watched on, helpless, as Silas killed her father and compelled the town to search for Katherine. For a premiere, a lot sure did happen to our favourite characters to ensure our return to the show. After five seasons, we are emotionally attached to these characters and it is as though they have compelled us to follow them on their journey, to mourn and celebrate with them. |
