It’s yet another tale of the daring Agent Carter! Our steadfast heroine has survived accusations of treason, rumbled the enemies within her organisation and dealt a heavy blow to the forces of Leviathan. Can she untangle the web of lies that has been spun and tie up all the loose ends? Have I mixed my metaphors? Read on, dear viewer, to find out! by Graham Osborne The penultimate episode of Agent Carter is full of palpable tension, as various plots and machinations come out of the woodwork. At the centre of it all is the shadowy Leviathan, but will Agent Carter be able to foil their operations and clear Howard Stark’s name? by Graham Osborne Agent Carter continues to enthral, as we’re thrown deeper into the realms of treachery, espionage and good old-fashioned sleuthing. The story only has two more episodes to go, and everything to play for. by Graham Osborne There are only three more episodes of Agent Carter to go before the series finishes. So far the story has been good, taking off quicker than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and keeping to a tighter schedule to cut down on fluff episodes. Overall, the show has been enjoyable thus far, and this week is no exception. by Hayley Charlesworth Howard Stark returns in this week’s Agent Carter, where not only are his and Jarvis’ true intentions revealed, but the men of the Strategic Scientific Reserve edge ever closer to discovering the mystery behind Leviathan, and Peggy’s own secret. Throw in a surprising new addition to the fray, and finally exploring the fallout from Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Blitzkrieg Button ends up as exciting a mid-point as it is possible to have. by Graham Osborne It’s hard to say where Agent Carter will end up in the long run. The show is enjoyable enough, but lacks the punch of the films, and the series feels more like a slightly more polished Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with a slow-ish start and building up from there. It’s a good formula, but it relies on a delicate balancing act of maintaining just enough excitement to keep the pace whilst not giving away too much to spoil the rest of the production. Luckily, the episodes of this miniseries are captivating enough to suggest that Marvel are on the right lines. by Graham Osborne It’s been pretty hard to fault Marvel for their turn on the silver screen so far. They may have had a few wobbles with Iron Man 2, and the ending to Captain America: The First Avenger may have needed some improvement, but ultimately they’re riding a wave of successes on the big screen which they’ve seen cross over to the small with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Joining this is Agent Carter, following on from the events of The First Avenger and the Marvel One Shot on the Iron Man 3 DVD. By Helen Langdon Today sees not just one piece of good news for TV news for Marvel fans, but two! Firstly, Agents of SHIELD has just been renewed for season two – good timing, considering the season finale airs in just a few days’ time. It’s the series that gets to show the wider implications of events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as the clean-up of London after Thor: The Dark World, and surviving in the climate of betrayal after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But that’s not the most important news. Rumours have been flying around for months, and today it was confirmed that ABC will be airing a full series of Agent Carter, with Hayley Atwell starring as the character first introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger. |
