The story so far on IWG - Romana is kicking Rose's arse, while Donna is just edging in front of Clara. It's still not too late to go and vote, and comment, and get all your friends to vote for your favourite. Because this is serious business. Anyway, up today, we've got the female doctors that have assisted our favourite Time Lord Doctor. It's Martha Jones vs Grace Holloway time.
It's Day Two of our Doctor Who Companion Faceoff! Today, we're moving on to the companions that were pre-destined to travel with the Doctor. Sometimes the Doctor chooses the companion, sometimes the companion chooses the Doctor, and sometimes the universe takes things into its own hands and keeps on throwing the companion into the Doctor's path. Today, we’re kicking off the I’m With Geek official Doctor Who Companion Faceoff. After all, we could do a countdown, but we want to let you guys have your say in deciding the ultimate companion. Each day, we’ll be featuring two companions, and asking you to vote for your favourites to progress through to the next round. Up first, we have two of the Doctor’s love interests. Feast your eyes on these. by Robbie Jones Thronies, it’s time to get your credit cards now, because Season 4 is available to pre-order on DVD and Blu-Ray! The hit fourth season of the fantasy show shocked and tantalised audiences, and caused some controversy with book readers, but the show is popular as ever. In fact, it’s HBO’s highest rated show ever, beating the record held by The Sopranos. by Xavier Gonne When asked about it, I’ve often described Babylon 5 as “The Wire of SF”. Yes, it’s that good. When I hear someone has never seen it, two competing feelings announce themselves. The first, of course, is disbelief. How can someone be alive, conscious and have access to the internets not know of B5, I ask, often while shaking the individual by the lapels. But, the other feeling is one of envy. I envy those people who have never seen Babylon 5. Why? Because they get to experience it for the first time. by Robbie Jones Comic Con is a beautiful thing, especially for TV shows. The cast of The Walking Dead gathered for their panel a few nights ago, and unveiled the much anticipated trailer for the hit horror show. Now that the trailer is out and we know what is to come, October feels further away than ever.... by Cookie N Screen Furlough is a concept that many people probably don’t understand. After all, the idea is pretty bonkers. You have a criminal, a known law breaker, that for whatever reason (usually personal) needs to leave the prison. And then you have to trust that criminal to come back. Sure, you set up precautions that basically track where the delinquent is going but if they leave, abscond to another country then you’ve basically screwed up. At the same time, they are still humans with family that may get sick or children that may be birthed. Furlough is tricky to handle, it’s a godsend to get and it lands squarely in the hands of our leading character, Piper. by Jack Edwards Coupling was written by former Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat, and tells the tale of Jack Davenport (Commodore or ‘the posh one’ in Pirates of the Caribbean) as Steve and Sarah Alexander (who’s in too much to name) as Susan, and recounts their relationship, from meeting until the birth of their first child, based loosely on the experiences of Steven Moffat’s relationship with the show’s producer Sue Vertue. As the couple begin their relationship they realise they are going to have to take each other’s baggage for the ride too and it is here where the comedy lies. by Cookie N Screen One of the most phenomenal television shows is NBC Hannibal. Just finishing off their stellar season two run, Bryan Fuller’s incredible masterpiece based on characters from Thomas Harris’ books has received rave reviews. Intensely gothic, the poetic and disturbing imagery enhanced the villainous Lecter as he deceived many whilst chopping people up and popping them in stews. With the explosive season finale leaving many doors open for the season three. Attending a panel this week at San Diego Comic Con, Bryan Fuller and the team let slip of secrets from the show that will air next year. And we’re already watering at the mouth to get a bite of that feast. by Hayley Charlesworth The threat of the Dead Pool looms over our heroes in the latest episode of Teen Wolf, I.E.D, where a lacrosse game could turn deadly as the assassins try to strike names off the list. With Scott, Stiles and Kira try to protect new Beta Liam at all costs, Lydia and Malia are on the case to crack the further two encrypted lists, and the threat of Kate Argent returns for both her brother Chris, and for Derek Hale. Teen Wolf continues to have one of its most coherent storylines in a while, with every character having some involvement. The only problem is, Liam and the other freshmen just aren’t very interesting |
