Last week was the epic 100th episode milestone for The Vampire Diaries. It opened up a new, major story arch for the rest of the season which was more fully introduced this week. This also marks the half way line for the season.

Elena didn’t play a huge role in this episode thanks to Katherine, who was incredibly annoying rather than her usual sarcastic, entertaining self; and when she wasn’t annoying, she was boring by pretending to be Elena. She insisted Matt tell her about their break up as she would need the information later but it was never brought up again or clarified as to why she wanted to know.

Caroline is having a hard time accepting what she did last week. Whereas it made the fandom go wild and probably cry tears of joy, she hates herself and looks for someone to tell her she is a horrible person. One person quite happily tells her this but she won’t accept it as their opinion still means more to her than it has a right to. Stefan and his hero hair saves the day by gently telling her what she wants to hear. Those Stefoline moments are so sweet.
This episode was fairly boring because there was too much Katherine. Normally, Katherine is the life of the show because she was witty. True, this episode wasn’t appropriate for that attitude but it did make it boring. The bet part was the return of Damon! The show will be a hundred times better with evil Damon so keep it coming!
