(Editor's Note: This article was originally written in June)

Since the trailer for CW's new superhero show, The Flash, aired after the Arrow season two finale, we've been begging for more info. Set within the same universe as Arrow, The Flash follows nerdy crime scene officer Barry Allen after he wakes up from a coma (caused by an exploding particle accelerator no-less) and discovers he can move at superhuman speeds.

Big news for Arrow fans today – Superman is joining the cast! Well, kind of. Superman the character might not be showing up to help Oliver Queen fight crime, but it has just been announced that actor Brandon Routh will be appearing in series three of Arrow as Ray Palmer, also known as superhero the Atom.

So many heart-breaking and anger inducing moments have led to these two episodes detailing the final battle (at least, for now) between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) and oh what an excellent finale!

Arrow "Deathstroke" (Spoilers!)

Deathstroke was certainly given a lot of hype-the first true step into the game of revenge that Slade (Manu Bennett) has in store for Oliver (Stephen Amell), and it certainly delivered! It was a very exciting episode, which kept us at the edge of our seats through every second as we awaited the next detail.

Arrow "The Scientist" (Spoilers!)

12/19/2013

This weeks episode Arrow is the first of a two parter which fans have been waiting for since it was announced way back in the summer, the arrival of Barry Allen before his own spin off show as The Flash. However, incorporating The Flash into the Arrow universe presents its own challenges. Arrow is definitely a child of The Dark Knight in its style and emphasis on realism. We are now midway through the second season and the idea of super powers has never even been addressed. Something that obviously needs to happen in order for this crossover to occur. We've had a few hints over the past couple of episodes but now it's time to see how well they do at adding powers  into the world.

Arrow "Queen Vs State" (Spoilers!)

12/8/2013

One of my deepest reservations during season one of Arrow was the mixed bag of non-canon supporting characters that surrounded our Emerald Archer. As the season went on it became apparent that the group fell into three groups. Team Arrow, consisting of Diggle and Felicity were quickly taken into viewers hearts as our hero’s trusted allies. However, both had their own unique and endearing personalities that made us root for them. Team Lance, consisting of our weary and long suffering detective who hated Oliver for killing his daughter and the Archer for being a vigilante was a strong and tragic character with realistic motivations while his daughter Laurel was a tough empowered lawyer working for the people and who sympathised with the vigilantes cause.

Arrow "Crucible" (Spoilers!)

Well the mask is off and Black Canary’s true identity is Sara Lance. Not exactly a shocker if the audience have and familiarity with the comics or have at least been paying attention for the last year. I can’t help but feel disappointed halfway into episode 4 that the mystery is over. The outcome was always going to be obvious but I was expecting a few clues to throw us off or at least for this mystery to go on a little longer. However as always with Arrow it appears that the really engaging mystery lies not in the present but on the island. Exactly the opposite of Lost in that way…
