The penultimate episode of Star Wars Rebels has drawn to a close and things seem pretty bleak for our group of heroes. Luckily, this week still manages to marry the humour and action along with tension and fear. by Graham Osborne Star Wars Rebels has been suffering lately from lack of development and little actual threat to the characters. Admittedly, the show is aimed at a younger audience (hence the general proclivity for stunning weaponry) meaning the writers are more likely to pull their punches when it comes to peril, and the chances of a lucky shot/well timed distraction clinching the victory in favour of our derring do-gooders is assured. This episode, however, brings back some of the sense of threat that has been missing for a while, and it is glorious. by Graham Osborne Star Wars Rebels has returned from the mid-season break with yet another strong storyline. Ezra is facing concerns from Jarrus following events against the Inquisitor during ‘Gathering Forces’ and the rest of the crew are feeling the pinch as the need for food and fuel becomes ever more apparent. by Graham Osborne This week’s episode follows on almost directly from last week’s cliffhanger, the crew of the Ghost are being chased by The Inquisitor and a squad of TIE-Fighters who are determined to reclaim the Imperial secrets stored inside the head of a fugitive Rodian. by Graham Osborne Rejoice everyone, for it is Empire Day in our glorious galaxy! A time where one and all remember Emperor Palpatine’s victory during the Clone Wars and the defeat of the Jedi scum! At least that’s what the official story is in this week’s episode, the first in a two parter. by Graham Osborne The Force has finally smiled down upon us! This week’s episode of Star Wars Rebels takes a break from the more traditional team up of Ezra, Jarrus and Zeb to take a look at two of the more ignored characters, Hera and Sabine. Despite the focus on other characters, the show still manages to keep the tensely paced and enjoyable action sequences that the show has enjoyed so far. by Graham Osborne A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… George Lucas made what some would consider to be one of the best film trilogies ever. Then, he followed it up twenty years later with one of the worst prequel trilogies ever made. Followed by a TV series set between the second and third films of the prequels, which told a better story and managed to redeem the franchise. by Robbie Jones Ah, Star Wars. Only two words and yet upon hearing them, so many thoughts and memories spring to mind. Quite simply one of the best film franchises of all time, it’s always found ways to entertain fans when there weren’t any films coming out. We’ve had video games, short films, merchandising and TV shows. With another film on the way, there comes another TV show too, heading to Disney Channel: Rebels. |
