In this blistering mid-season finale, The 100 leaves behind the action on Mount Weather for an episode purely focused on Clarke and Finn. This is an episode that takes our heroine to places she has never been before, and can never return from. It also reveals Clarke Griffin to be one of the strongest characters on television.

Last week ended with a really dark scene, one of the best chances of finding the Mountain Men and bringing peace with the Grounders had been shot dead and Clarke’s health left questionable. Meanwhile Finn and Murphy are out trying to find Clarke, Kane is off to try and make a deal with the Grounders and Jasper is concerned about Clarke’s whereabouts.

With just one week to go until the season finale, the stakes are higher than ever before on The 100, a show that has unexpectedly been one of the most consistently gripping, action-packed and well-plotted debuts of the year. Last week, we left off with Finn the prisoner of the Grounders, Clarke trapped, and the revelation that there are still survivors on the Ark. But with the Ark only having a few days of survival left, and Clarke and Finn at the mercy of the Grounders, this is a nailbiter of a penultimate episode.

The last few episodes of The 100 have been intense. Events have escalated between the main group and the Grounders, and last week war was postponed as Raven blew up the bridge between the camps. This week, we start off with another major problem: A fire that wipes out all of the food supply, leaving Finn and Clarke to go hunting.

The increasingly fascinating Blake siblings take centre stage in the latest episode of The 100, as Bellamy leads an expedition to rescue younger sister Octavia from the growing threat of the Grounders. With scenes on the Ark limited to flashbacks of the Blake family backstory, His Sister’s Keeper serves mostly as an in depth character study of Bob Morley’s Bellamy, the most fascinating and morally ambiguous of this team of dubiously motivated teens.

This week, matters on the Ark become even more dramatic, and things on the ground change as Raven successfully makes her landing. Yes, matters on the Ark had been ruining the flow of surface matters, as it was never as fast-paced and engrossing as the ground. However this week, things start to get serious on the Ark.
