This week, matters on the Ark become even more dramatic, and things on the ground change as Raven successfully makes her landing. Yes, matters on the Ark had been ruining the flow of surface matters, as it was never as fast-paced and engrossing as the ground. However this week, things start to get serious on the Ark.

Once Raven has successfully reached the ground she is knocked unconscious. The 100 saw the pod fall, but Bellamy tells them they will search for it in the morning. Despite this, when Finn and Clarke return they find that Bellamy had gone to find the pod and destroy its radio. Raven wakes up and happily reunites with Finn, whilst Clarke looks on heartbroken. Usually, at times like this in a series, when a main character gets their heart broken in such a way, you feel quite a few ounces of sympathy for them. However, as we found out in the last episode that Raven is Finn’s girlfriend, it was easy to guess that his relationship with Clarke was never going to last, despite their very touching scene at the start of the episode.
Meanwhile, on the Ark, it is discovered that the oxygen supply has greatly depleted from the projected amount, and so, whilst Abby was in confinement, the council met to agree to cull 300 people. Abby is brought in by Jaha to help those suffering because of the lack of oxygen, one of whom is a nine year old girl who is going blind.

Back on the ground, it is revealed to the others that Bellamy shot Jaha, whilst trying to save his own skin, and he joins the other members of the 100 to find the radio. When it is found, Raven reveals that she won’t be able to dry it out in time, and so decides that she can create a way to shoot the rockets from the original pod into the air to let those on the Ark know they are alive.
To try and stop the culling, Abby decides to release her husband’s video and tell people about the plan. This inspires the people to sacrifice themselves to save their loved ones. Jaha is persuaded by Kane not to join the volunteers. When the flairs are seen, it is too late as the volunteers have already been gassed.

Last week’s episode was full of violence, anger and a lot of emotion, this week’s episode felt a little bit calmer. Despite this, the storyline is still moving along at a decent pace and the worsening of things on the Ark makes those scenes more on-par with the drama on the ground. Plus, it does rather tug at your heart strings as you hope for the 100 to fire the rockets in time to save the 300 people.
