Doctor Who - 50th Anniversary Details REVEALED!

It's finally here! The news Doctor Who fans all around the globe have been waiting for! The BBC have announced that the 75-minute special episode; The Day of The Doctor (which will also be Matt Smith's penultimate episode playing the ancient timelord) will not be the only Doctor Who related program on the horizon.

The Day of The Doctor is set to star Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, David Tennant and Billie Piper as The Eleventh Doctor, Clara, The Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler respectably and will finally unravel the mystery behind the shocking season seven finale and the reveal of a previously unknown incarnation of our favourite Doctor, played by John Hurt.

Sharp eyed viewers will notice that the Bad Wolf could once again be rearing its head. This can only spell trouble for our favourite Doctors...

Dexter - Goodbye Miami Review (Spoilers!)

Everything that was said last week... I take it all back. The finale train has stalled and our ‘neat monster’ of old has returned, yet again, to his sloppy ways - leaving many fans astounded that the whole of Miami Metro hasn’t worked out his secret life. With just two episodes - ever - to go, the show should be on fire. Dexter, boxed in on all corners. Every member of Miami Metro closing in on his secret, the FBI preparing to pounce and a serial killer on the prowl...

Instead we’re forced to watch as Dexter, who just a few weeks earlier was so desperate to have his sister Deborah back in his life, prepares to abandon his life and jet off to Argentina with son and Serial-killing girlfriend, Hannah McKay, leaving Deb behind. Have I mentioned that Hannah tried to kill Deborah?

It’s agonizing to see a much-loved show, which had all the potential to go down in a blaze of glory, limping towards the finish line with a weak final chapter. The fact that Dexter and Hannah’s plans might be derailed by a simple treadmill - more on this later - gives more credence to the idea that, as a show, Dexter truly has run it’s course..

Once Upon a Time - "Second Star to the Right" (Spoilers)

With the Premier of Once Upon a Time's third season rapidly approaching, like a - purple - curse-filled storm of anticipation, a review of the grand finale of Season 2 should wet your appetites for what we hope will be an explosive start.

Last week we saw our mayor, and resident Evil Queen, Regina (Lana Parilla) sacked. Literally – a sack thrown over her well-styled head. The culprits were the suspicious newbies Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Greg (Ethan Embry), noted in my book as ‘suspicious’ for a growing list of reasons: they drove into town with a one-handed pirate captain in the boot, trying to get by in Storybrooke with just a list of names and the past murdering of a red dragon.

Breaking Bad - Rabid Dog Review (Spoilers)

You know what I’ll miss the most about Breaking Bad? No matter how tense it gets, it will always outdo itself.

This week’s episode is no exception. Walter (Bryan Cranston) rushes home, prepared to do what’s necessary, to find Jesse (Aaron Paul) gone but his living covered in gasoline. Making up another fake story, he takes his family to a hotel, where he meets up with Saul (Bob Odenkirk). Neither Goodman nor his lackeys have been able to locate Jesse, leading him to suggest an Old Yeller solution; perhaps it’s time to put Jesse down. However, Walt won’t stand for it. Returning to the hotel room, he and Skyler (Anna Gunn) have an argument in which she too suggests that he kill Jesse, but Walt tries desperately to defend him and his actions.

James Wan's The Conjuring deeply divided audiences. People seemed to either hate it with a searing passion or love it with ours goes to eleven intensity.

I loved it. Not only because I found it scary as hell, but also because I once worked with Ed and Lorraine Warren, real paranormal investigators who are the film's main characters. Not only did I work with them, I came very close to getting beaten up by them.

This happened during my work as cinematographer on a reality show called Real Scary Stories. In the show, we took teenagers to haunted locations then did our best to scare the living hell out of them.

Elementary (My Dear Watson) You Need to be Watching This

So over the pond in America, a little known channel named CBS is broadcasting a popular crime drama about an incredibly smart detective who is solving crimes with his ex-surgeon assistant and the NYPD. Sounds like any other cop show right? WRONG! This is the amazing series of "Elementary" based on the characters Sherlock Holmes and Joan (yeah you saw that right) Watson.

I say based, some of the deeper storylines do revolve around some of the elements of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original books, but mostly the story differs. For example, and this is a pretty obvious point, it is not set in London. Many fans I know don't like the series simply because it strays away from the original location. It would be like Harry Potter being set in America instead of in England. That would definitely not work, however, Sherlock Holmes in America seems to work.
