
It's finally here! The news Doctor Who fans all around the globe have been waiting for! The BBC have announced that the 75-minute special episode; The Day of The Doctor (which will also be Matt Smith's penultimate episode playing the ancient timelord) will not be the only Doctor Who related program on the horizon.
The Day of The Doctor is set to star Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, David Tennant and Billie Piper as The Eleventh Doctor, Clara, The Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler respectably and will finally unravel the mystery behind the shocking season seven finale and the reveal of a previously unknown incarnation of our favourite Doctor, played by John Hurt.
Sharp eyed viewers will notice that the Bad Wolf could once again be rearing its head. This can only spell trouble for our favourite Doctors...

Staying with William Hartnell, a one-off docudrama, An Adventure in Space and Time, starring David Bradley, tells the true story behind the inception and birth of a global cultural phenomenon.

As well as this BBC Two's top arts programme The Culture Show will be presenting a one-off show alongside lifelong Doctor Who fan Matthew Sweet; You and Doctor Who and will explore the cultural significance of Doctor Who.
Anyone who isn't familiar with the world of Doctor Who (What are you doing here?) can pick up Doctor Who; The Ultimate Guide to help them understand their favourite time lord.

Viewers aged six and fourteen have the opportunity to design a new gadget to appear on the series with Blue Peter. The Doctor Himself, Matt Smith, will also be dropping onto the Blue Peter sofa to answer questions from viewers.
BBC Three audiences will be encouraged to get involved and vote in Doctor Who: Monsters and Villains Weekend.

So, whether you're interested in the development of the show, the character, the history or are simply a die hard fan, you're definitely in for a real treat. The 50th Anniversary is set to be a real event that fans will be talking about for years to come!
