The increasingly fascinating Blake siblings take centre stage in the latest episode of The 100, as Bellamy leads an expedition to rescue younger sister Octavia from the growing threat of the Grounders. With scenes on the Ark limited to flashbacks of the Blake family backstory, His Sister’s Keeper serves mostly as an in depth character study of Bob Morley’s Bellamy, the most fascinating and morally ambiguous of this team of dubiously motivated teens.

I’ve kept the spirit of Orange Is The New Black alive by meticulously writing weekly about a season I binged watched over a couple of months ago. Now we are winding down on the series and next week will be my final Orange Is The New Black review until next year and I feel like we have all been locked away in the SHU. We’re gradually saying goodbye to all the ladies of Litchfield, waving our teary hands and refusing to let go. But not before we enjoy the penultimate episode which boasts the best line in the history of the show; “If you want to assassinate someone, vision is a basic requirement. It's like step one, pick a person to kill. Step two, kill THAT person” by Julia Lawson Hold on to your Victoria sponges and chocolate sprinkles – GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF IS BACK! Following a rich BBC ancestry of food programmes such as Ready Steady Cook and Masterchef, comes this fabulous creation back for a beating fifth series of cakes, biscuits and oh so much frosting! Ready, set, BAKE! It's the final day of round two! And who do we have for you today? Well, a lot of classic companions - up first is UNIT commander and companion to many Doctors, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, against Peri (the companion nearly murdered by the Doctor). And then it's Jo Grant, the irrepressible, vs Adric. Don't forget, it's not too late to vote in the earlier polls - time is running out, and round three starts tomorrow! by Hayley Charlesworth Thanks to a jaunt up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we’re a little behind in our coverage of Teen Wolf. But never fear, we have a bumper edition for you, with both Weaponized and Time of Death furthering the Benefactor’s master plan. And one thing is apparent: despite the fact that the season is nearly over, it seems like only now there has been some actual development in the plot. How can the season be drawing to a close when it feels like it barely begun? by Helen Langdon Some Doctor Who actors had it harder than others. Patrick Troughton had to carry the first regeneration and recreate the role of the Doctor for the first time. Christopher Eccleston had to bring the show back after a long hiatus. And Peter Davison had to follow on from possibly the most iconic Doctor of all time, Tom Baker. Stepping into his sizeable shoes was no easy task, but Davison does it with aplomb, setting a character template for the Doctor which would be returned to in the 21st century. by Xavier Gonne The Leftovers is a HBO (hurrah!) show about people who disappeared in the Rapture (boo!) written by Damon Lindelof of LOST and Prometheus fame (boo!). Problem is, it’s not about people who were Raptured away. It’s about very stupid people making very stupid decisions in the face of a couple of mysteries which, like LOST before it, have no hope of being answered. Bit of a shock from the last round - Sarah Jane Smith, consistently voted as the best Who companion ever, lost out to Australian Tegan Jovanka. So, in today's Faceoff, Tegan is now up against the Silurian Madame Vastra. Can she go all the way? It's up to you! And in our other poll, it's Turlough vs K9. by Jack Edwards Yes, the new series of the BBC Three comedy hit our screens last Thursday, after a very popular first series, so expect more awkward beliefs and gullibility from the wacky protagonist, and more hilarious anger and annoyance from Greg Davies as his disapproving Father in Law. However Cuckoo has undergone some serious Hollywood style surgery. by Robbie Jones There are just some shows that you immediately associate with a certain actor. Some people think of Star Trek and they think of William Shatner. Some people think of Only Fools and Horses and think of David Jason. And some people think of Doctor Who, and despite having eleven different faces to think of, they think of Tom Baker. |
