One of the most phenomenal television shows is NBC Hannibal. Just finishing off their stellar season two run, Bryan Fuller’s incredible masterpiece based on characters from Thomas Harris’ books has received rave reviews. Intensely gothic, the poetic and disturbing imagery enhanced the villainous Lecter as he deceived many whilst chopping people up and popping them in stews. With the explosive season finale leaving many doors open for the season three. Attending a panel this week at San Diego Comic Con, Bryan Fuller and the team let slip of secrets from the show that will air next year. And we’re already watering at the mouth to get a bite of that feast.
On top of this, as Hannibal has fled, there will be an introduction of characters from the novels that will show up including the Florentine detective Rinaldo Pazzi who famously hunted Lecter in the Hannibal story. For those who are fans of Hannibal Rising, lover Lady Muraski will appear and those hoping for the Red Dragon storyline to make waves, in episode eight, Francis Dolarhyde. It will all pick up a year after the events of season two as people try to move on from the brutality in the Lecter household.
MGM is still clinging onto Clarice Starling so the canon FBI Agent so famously portrayed by Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs, later by Julianne Moore in Hannibal won’t appear in the show until they acquire the rights to her. When they do, who do you think would make a great Clarice?
Until next year though, enjoy this deliriously good gag reel from Season Two which shows that even cannibals have a sense of humour. And can't dress themselves.
