Comic Con is a beautiful thing, especially for TV shows. The cast of The Walking Dead gathered for their panel a few nights ago, and unveiled the much anticipated trailer for the hit horror show. Now that the trailer is out and we know what is to come, October feels further away than ever....
This trailer is outstanding. People used to complain that there weren’t enough zombies in The Walking Dead, well now they’ve really turned the action up to 11 in recent years and it’s only getting higher and higher. It’s nice to see the entire group back together, with Tyreese, Carol and Judith shown to have joined the others. It seems there’s a lot of conflict in the group in this season too, as Abraham seems dead set on getting to Washington, but Rick tells them they can’t leave without their people, a statement also made by Sasha later on to someone else. An interesting shot showed Abraham collapsing to his knees crying in the middle of the road. What’s going on here? Only time will tell, but Abraham is quite the manly man and I’m sure it’s not easy to make him cry.
But the biggest reveal of this trailer....Beth is alive! In Season Four’s second half, whilst Daryl was trapped in a funeral home with walkers, Beth was kidnapped and driven away. There was a lot of speculation that the people at Terminus were cannibals (And it still seems likely) and there was a theory that Beth had been taken to Terminus and cooked. However, it seems that she’s somewhere else entirely, as part of a system or law enforcement or something along those lines, and she seems out of her depth. Just where is Beth, and what is this she’s part of?
The best part is, not only is the trailer epic, but this is just for the first half of Season Five! And if part one is looking this good, it’s already raising high hope for part two.
The Walking Dead returns October 12th.
