With a punny title (the knight certainly is taking the queen, wink wink nudge nudge), The Musketeers was back to combining all its best elements this week – action, political scheming and a healthy dose of sex. While Queen Anne was off taking a ritualistic dip in a lake, her husband got drunk and accidentally ordered her death. Like you do.

Like you do. by Leah Stone This week, we actually get to travel to a SHIELD Academy, from which Fitz and Simmons came from. They, along with Skye and Ward, were sent to the academy to investigate a situation where a swimming pool was frozen by a device Fitz had investigated, nearly trapping some students inside. by Verushka Byrow The circus comes to Grimm in this episode – Carnival Metamorphosia to be exact, which is a thinly veiled excuse to have Wesen woge and entertain humans. Sam Witwer (Being Human) plays Max, a blutbad in the circus, who when the episode opens seems to be cheating on his girlfriend with two human girls. They’re intent on figuring out how he changed into the Wolfman they just saw during the show. Max woges and the next thing we know, Hank and Nick are being called in to investigate the girls’ murders. by Julia Lawson Regrets and consequences are the theme of this week’s episode, examining things lost and hearts broken. Anastasia gave up Will for her crown, but now wants him back… unfortunate. Cyrus gave up his ‘lost and found’ compass to the caterpillar years ago, yet needs it to find his mother who is still alive encased in Jafar’s staff. But Wonderland is all about finding things… by Cookie N Screen (There is a pretty grim photo in this review, warning.) Finally, Fuller be praised; we have an episode of Hannibal season two that will leave you exhilarated, in awe and eager to find out what happened next. Season two, if you have been keeping up with this series of reviews, has been bouncing around dull ever since Will Graham was put behind bars. But now the simmering meat has been cooked and we can finally devour our meal with happy relish. Not only is it pretty damn exciting, but Fuller and director David Semel have found a happy medium with astonishing imagery, bubbling thrills, gruesome murders and some character development. by Gemma Williams Last week was a sad time for fans as we all said farewell to a popular character and actor. The other characters didn’t seem too put out though. Why, you ask? Elijah was too busy trying to create alliances and Klaus suggested he throw a party. Why deal with your pain when you can just drink it away? by Verushka Byrow The last episode of this season is another example of the show’s writing getting stronger… almost. This week, Kennex and Dorian are called in to investigate the murder of a 16-year-old runaway. The catch? Her body is filled with straw. It’s a creepy, made even more disturbing of the glance we’re given of straw inside said dead body. Oh, I know it’s a show, but this is the first time in a long time that the show has had a GOOD case. by Hayley Charlesworth “You are not prepared,” the promos said. “Death is here,” they warned. The much-hyped death of a major character was to happen in Insatiable, the penultimate episode of Teen Wolf Season three-B. On this front, it delivered, but should Insatiable have maybe delivered more? by Verushka Byrow Beauty is pain, murderously so in episode 12 of this show. It begins with a Chrome’s murder, and as established in earlier episodes, a Chrome is genetically altered to be perfect, so a Chrome cannot die from a heart attack. Or so Valerie Stahl insists when she asks Kennex and Dorian for their help to investigate this murder. They find evidence the victim was injected with something to make his heart stop, and what looked like a single murder case, quickly becomes a serial case as more and more victims are found, but not all are Chrome. By Verushka Byrow Gotham is in full flight with the new, clean-shaven Jim Gordon showing off his chase skills. Ben McKenzie, post-Southland, seems to have fit right into his new rookie detective role. Gotham is the tale of Gordon’s rise to the Police Commissioner we all know and love, and possibly his investigation of the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. |
