Late last year, NBC (and Sky Living in the UK) began airing a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s vampire classic, Dracula. Now, with the release of the DVD box set, it’s the perfect time to catch up with a series which is sexy, silly, and beautifully shot, but not particularly revolutionary. By Robbie Jones The Walking Dead is back! Yes, Frank Darabont’s uneven but entertaining zombie drama has returned to our screens after an agonising two month break. But before we get started, let’s quickly recap the life ruining mid season finale that was Too Far Gone.... By Helen Langdon The Good Soldier, episode four of The Musketeers, might as well have been named “The One With All The Capes.” Capes were out in full force this week, swirling around the Cardinal as he did something particularly Machiavellian and smartening up the musketeers on parade. d’Artagnan still isn’t a musketeer, and so didn’t get a cape, but for some reason he was still on parade. It’s starting to feel like he’s the regiment mascot. After Athos' destructive trip to the past last episode, it was Aramis' turn to flashback to a psychologically traumatising incident. It was a lot less sunny and a lot more tinged with blue. By Hayley Charlesworth Building on last week's excellent episode, Silverfinger is perhaps Teen Wolf's finest offering to date. Between moody, atmospheric direction, interweaving plot threads and a delightfully shocking reveal, everyone gets plenty to sink their teeth into. Except for Lydia, who bizarrely doesn't show up. By Leah Stone With the release of Peter Capaldi’s 12th Doctor outfit, I decided to write an article and attempt to predict what will occur in series 8 and what the 12th Doctor will be like... By Cookie N Screen This show at the time was considered pioneering. Why? Because it centred on an ugly duckling story where a robust but plucky young women navigates the unusual (for her) world of a high-end fashion magazine. I know what you are thinking; “isn’t that offensive?” Actually, no. Not because the television wasn’t constantly about her looks conflicting with the beautiful. It was about her personality conflicting with them and how her lifestyle is dramatically altered by the vicious and sometimes realistic world of glossy magazine Mode. By Gemma Williams Well, this was brutal. The Originals is definitely darker and more mature than its parents show. Not one major character was left untouched by some form of misery and it looks like death in on the horizon. Everyone is currently in a dangerous situation and it’s unbelievable. By Gemma Williams Suffice it to say, this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries was much more entertaining than the previous. The only good part of last week was Damon giving up. As he so appropriately said ‘I’m better like this.’ Yes, yes you are, Damon. By Robbie Jones The twists and turns just don’t stop in this show. Whilst some can be boring and unnecessary, there are then some that knock it out of the park and keep the show interesting. This week’s episode threw two at us, both vaguely interesting, and sure to play out well... By Graham Osborne Vikings Series One is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray. I represented I'm With Geek at the release party held at the British Museum. It was a nicely understated affair, consisting of a screening of the first two episodes and a Q&A with the creator, Michael Hirst and George Blagden, who plays the monk Athelstan. |
