Boy, TV is really filling up with superhero shows lately.
…What’s that? You want more? Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming Agent Carter aren’t enough for you, eh?
DC has got you covered then!

by Ben Mapp Boy, TV is really filling up with superhero shows lately. …What’s that? You want more? Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the upcoming Agent Carter aren’t enough for you, eh? DC has got you covered then! by Ben Mapp The TV adaptation of Constantine is looming, with a new TV trailer out giving us some idea of what to expect from Matt Ryan’s portrayal of the cult comic book character, which was published by DC. Constantine was last seen on-screen as depicted by Keanu Reeves in a mediocre 2005 theatrical release, which shared only a loose connection to the source material. by Graham Osborne It is honestly getting harder and harder to write these reviews. There’s only so many ways you can gush over a TV series without repeating oneself. That being said, this episode of Fargo was (yet again) a fantastic tale of intrigue, blackmail and arrests. by Verushka Byrow I have to admit, watching the last couple of episodes of Grimm have been a chore. As much as I’ve enjoyed some parts of the show expanding, I feel like the writers have sacrificed the core elements of the show in an effort to broaden the universe, particularly, Nick and Portland’s Wesen-World and Nick’s friendship with Monroe – I’ve been beating that (dead) horse for a couple of reviews now, I know, but the lack of Monroe and Nick’s friendship, arguably the strongest part of season one, just make the show so obviously less. I guess Nick had to “grow up” sometime, but I didn’t think that would mean leaving Monroe behind. by Melissa Haggar With only one episode to go until the Season Finale, this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory was bound to be something special and it certainly delivered in adding a dramatic turn of events to the series. The episode ushered in the return of the disastrous killer-Gorilla movie, an accident involving Mrs. Wolowitz and, if that wasn’t enough, a surprise proposal. By Helen Langdon Today sees not just one piece of good news for TV news for Marvel fans, but two! Firstly, Agents of SHIELD has just been renewed for season two – good timing, considering the season finale airs in just a few days’ time. It’s the series that gets to show the wider implications of events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as the clean-up of London after Thor: The Dark World, and surviving in the climate of betrayal after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But that’s not the most important news. Rumours have been flying around for months, and today it was confirmed that ABC will be airing a full series of Agent Carter, with Hayley Atwell starring as the character first introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger. by Cookie N Screen Last night something incredible happened. News was coming out. Shows were falling to the mighty axe of their studios. Community, a grand sitcom; a fallen hero. Lesser shows like Dads laid upon the trenches as the television guide became a bloody battleground. With a large viewership dropping and a niche market for lovers of gore, Hannibal was always going to be worried about cancellation. Wrought hands slavered over each other in fright; could our beloved cannibal find himself underneath the chop that he so loving gave out? Could he be serving his final dish? In short: no. And to celebrate NBC and the team behind one of the most delicious shows gave us an exciting episode. by Leah Stone Last week’s episode left everyone speechless and rather angry, not at the unveiling of the clairvoyant’s identity, but that Ward is on the side of the clairvoyant and therefore HYDRA. by Robbie Jones TV shows based on comic books are the thing of today. For years, we’ve had all the Batman cartoons, Spider-Man cartoons, Justice League etc. but in recent years we’ve been hit by show like Arrow and Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Both shows have garnered big followings, but whilst these two have followed on from others (Smallville and The Avengers film series, respectively), Fox’s latest show is taking us back in time. To a time before Batman, in Gotham. by Robbie Jones Jesus Christ, are we at the half way mark already? As quick as flash, we’re on episode five, leaving only five episodes left until the end of Season four. That’s the issue with ten episode seasons, they go by so fast. Luckily, every episode is packed with enough drama to make it last, and this week is no exception. A new king is crowned, a shocking twist is unveiled and the Night’s Watch take to battle with their mutineer brothers. Never a boring day in Westeros. |
