The TV adaptation of Constantine is looming, with a new TV trailer out giving us some idea of what to expect from Matt Ryan’s portrayal of the cult comic book character, which was published by DC. Constantine was last seen on-screen as depicted by Keanu Reeves in a mediocre 2005 theatrical release, which shared only a loose connection to the source material.
The pilot of this new series is written by David Goyer, who is famous for his work on the Dark Knight Trilogy as well as last year’s Man of Steel, and will be directed by Neil Marshall. Despite having directed a string of movies Marshall has never been one to shy away from TV, having directed two episodes from both Starz’ Black Sails and HBO’s Game of Thrones (including the infamous Blackwater episode).
Whilst not much is known about the plot of Constantine, Matt Ryan will be joined by Lucy Griffiths as Liv Aberdine, Harold Perrineau as Manny and Charles Halford as Chas.
The series is expected to begin airing later this year.
