It seems as though the last year has already been a big one for the British comedy circuit, with Monty Python announcing their return to the limelight and rumours abound of a Fry & Laurie reunion in the form of a variety stage show. Now, just a few days into 2014, it has been confirmed that Only Fools & Horses is returning to the small screen. by Paul Costello Veronica Mars was a relatively short-lived series that first aired in 2004 and lasted three seasons before being summarily cancelled in 2007. Despite high praise and very loyal fanbase, the show left the airwaves, never to be heard of again… That is until last year when creator Rob Thomas and the series’ cast launched a Kickstarter to fund a film project to carry on the story. Setting a $2million goal, the project shattered every record, ending with a final tally of $5,702,153, making it the most successful Kickstarter campaign ever. Told you, very loyal fanbase. by Cookie N Screen Only a couple of days ago, we saw Sherlock return in The Empty Hearse. A bright mixture of fun, drama and character development, we welcomed with open arms the arrival of Mary Marston and smiled with joy at the reunion of Holmes and Watson. Now we are beaming with great big toothy grins as Mary and John wed, Sherlock Holmes has to deliver a best man speech and there is something suspicious and foul happening at the reception. By Mahesh Subramaniam Community introduced us to seven loveable misfits lost in life, who enrol at the educationally questionable Green Dale Community College. Since season one we've seen the characters through a female buddy cop episode, to a Law and Order parody, to a territorial war between blanket forts, and a paintball battle against a rival college. Community existed to turn television tropes on its head, it's what makes it such a refreshing show. By Graham Osborne Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s final ever episode aired over ten years ago. Going off that, it seems a fitting time to look back at the series. By Hayley Charlesworth Teen Wolf returns this January, and if the recent ‘Lose Your Mind’ promos are any indication, it has ditched the campy werewolf fun in favour of being utterly horrifying. But before we delve into Season 3B, a recap on the story so far, for newcomers. (Spoilers may follow. - Ed) On New Year's Day, Alfonso Ribiero broke the sad news to the world that actor James Avery, best known as Uncle Phil in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, had passed away at the age of 65. by Cookie N Screen There is something so nerve racking about waiting for an episode to air. Especially an episode that fans have been waiting for for nearly two years. Even more so, an episode that follows a bleeding steep cliff hanger. Dangling in the air, in front of us, like a detective on a bungee jump rope. Finally, our wait is over. The Empty Hearse, the season three opener, fell into our laps and we all rejoiced in epic celebration. But was it worth the wait? Was the new episode, coinciding with a brand new year, going to go off with a bang? Or was it going to sizzle out? |
