Let's start at the very beginning - a very good place to start. When NBC announced they were doing a live, televised version of The Sound of Music, there was a collective gasp of horror. They made it very clear, however, that this was a redo of the stage musical, NOT the film. The stage musical came before the film, they wisely pointed out. There was a further gasp of horror when it was announced that Carrie Underwood had been cast as everyone's favourite nun. Would this become a favourite thing of the fans, or something else?

By Julia Lawson Here we are again with the life and times of Storybrooke. To recover from the show’s brief hiatus, I went off gallivanting with the fairytale folk in an attempt to fix the sorry life-and-death situation. Due to the abundance of mulled wine and Christmas Market cupcakes we didn’t finalise any plans… Every little helps but it’s a good thing there’s a family of fairytale legends to save us… by Cookie 'N' Screen About a month ago, I went through all the best BAFTA Winning moments from Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson (as part of BBC’s Sherlock adaptation.) Now we finally have an airdate for season three, we are getting treated to a whole slew of trailers and there will be a Christmas Day mini-episode. With all this news coming at us like someone falling off a roof, we can’t help but turn to our favourite bouffant haired highly functioning sociopath and scream “Sherlock Lives!” at the top of our lungs. That being said, let’s celebrate all things Holmes and countdown our best Sherlock moments of Season One and Two. By Leah Stone It’s taken me all of these weeks to realise that the titles of the episodes are really not all that creative, are they? Basically take something that was said in the episode and “hey let’s put that as the title.” It’s just a little annoyance I now have. Come on Marvel, you have such a great artillery of writers and the best title you could come up with this episode was “Repairs”? By Robbie Jones Hello all! If you remember last week, I said the show has returned to its former glory. Lucky for us, it’s continued this streak, and we’ve been blessed with another fantastic episode! So, what’s going down this week? The Following is a psychological thriller from creator and executive producer Kevin Williamson. The series follows a notorious serial killer called Joe Carroll (played by James Purefoy) and a former FBI agent called Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), who was responsible for Carroll’s capture in 2003 after the murderer claimed the lives of 14 female students on a Virginia college campus where he taught literature. by Robbie Jones Kevin Bacon; centre of the universe, connected to everybody. I’ll watch anything with his name slapped on it. After all, he has made some great stuff in his time: Footloose, Flatliners, Apollo 13, X-Men: First Class, Crazy Stupid Love. This could go on for a while. So it’s no surprise that his latest TV show, The Following (which aired back in April), is definitely one to watch. |
