The Big Bang Theory is back – and so is Sheldon, who returns forty five days after his departure from Pasadena with a refreshed outlook and ready to tackle any challenge. Only kidding! He’s pretty much still the same. Season eight opened with two new episodes for audiences to revel in, ‘The Locomotion Interruption’ and ‘The Junior Professor Solution’, the former covering Sheldon’s return to the gang and the latter focusing on his appointment as a Junior Professor so he can still study dark matter (and get a pay rise).

The Big Bang Theory is back – and so is Sheldon, who returns forty five days after his departure from Pasadena with a refreshed outlook and ready to tackle any challenge. Only kidding! He’s pretty much still the same. However, the rumour mill ran wild with names popping up that could possibly take over the show, and two of those names have officially been announced: Colin Farell and Vince Vaughn. Well, we were promised the return of old allies this season, and Wolfblood has definitely delivered, with old friend Jana, Rhydian’s mum Ceri and other members of the wild Wolfblood pack back in Stoneybridge and looking for Rhydian’s help. And with an old threat resurfacing and old family members reappearing, will the Wolfblood/human pack find time to go to a Manchester United match? by Gloria Daniels-Moss The long and ever so agonising wait for TV series Gotham has finally come to an end. With the wait certainly being worth it - this episode fires up quickly as we see a young Catwoman, Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) leaping over rooftops, narrowly escaping arrest after stealing milk for the local strays. The initial, very comicbook style and playful opening is quickly replaced with the harsh reality that Gotham is not a safe haven. A young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) long before the creation of his alter ego enjoys the company of his parents after an evening out, only to watch them die in front of him for reasons that are currently unknown. by Gemma Williams Sleepy Hollow first graced our screens in September 2013. The show follows Ichabod Crane who died in the 1800s but reawakened in the modern day due to witchcraft. The show encompasses some well-known people from the past, witches, monsters, demons and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Ichabod teams up with local police officer Abbie Mills and together they combat evil to prevent the end of the world. This leads to hidden plots from hundreds of year previous being uncovered, whilst Ichabod is trying to adjust to contemporary society and electricity. by Cookie N Screen Hannibal season two came with much furore. After all, our favourite FBI agent with a dwindling psyche is behind bars, Hannibal Lecter is running wild make meals out of legs and flesh and everyone is clueless to what is going on behind the scenes. And Bryan Fuller and co have created, from the original Thomas Harris canon, a series of characters that we can truly invest in. Those kind of characters that feel wholly real despite the fact that they are all rather poshly dressed, have exquisite taste in the arts and speak right out of a poetry book. It’s been hard to whittle it down to just five, but these are the best characters of season two. (NB: Due to my other post, there was a crossover of characters and moments so in the interest of keeping it fresh, I’ve not added Beverley Katz or Bedelia. I just HAD to talk about two more though). by Hayley Charlesworth With just one week to go until the season finale, the stakes are higher than ever before on The 100, a show that has unexpectedly been one of the most consistently gripping, action-packed and well-plotted debuts of the year. Last week, we left off with Finn the prisoner of the Grounders, Clarke trapped, and the revelation that there are still survivors on the Ark. But with the Ark only having a few days of survival left, and Clarke and Finn at the mercy of the Grounders, this is a nailbiter of a penultimate episode. Out on DVD today, thanks to Studiocanal Home Entertainment, is Hannibal Season Two. The evocative series from Bryan Fuller is an exquisite masterpiece that is filled with a collection of murderous tableau’s set to the aching story line of villains, illness and deceit. With it riling up our televisions with nightmarish visuals and delicious characters who usually wind up on the dinner table of the titular psychiatrist, it must be difficult to pick some of the best moments from Hannibal. But from random wendigo’s to flesh eating pigs, we’re going to run down the best moments of Season Two. by Cookie N Screen So no one told you life was going to be this way. That your life was going to always have constant involuntary clapping whenever the Rembrandts was on. That ever since a rain soaked bride-to-be rushed, panicked into a coffee shop, we'd get six friends in a relationship now spanning two decades. That every day at least one line of their repertoire will be uttered from your lips. That every funny moment in your life must be followed by "like that moment in Friends." It's been 20 years and everyone has been touched by the comical lives of Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey. Ingenious, hilarious and touchingly human, the lives of New Yorks most famous six became a household name for everyone. |
