And that’s it. With a thrilling denouement, featuring enough running around to make you feel exhausted just watching it, Wolfblood has finally come to an end, perhaps forever. The third series finale didn’t just bring the season’s plotlines to a close – what is Segolia up to? Who can be trusted? Just who is going to end up in a relationship? – but also some of the storylines the series has been dealing with from the start.
So, what's next for Wolfblood? According to series creator Debbie Moon, CBBC haven’t yet commissioned a new series (but with the hashtag trending on Twitter and the show one of the most-watched on iPlayer, it’s probably quite likely). If it does return, it’s anyone’s guess as to what would happen. In a blog post, Moon said that it would be unlikely for all of the actors to return, and that they’d be telling new stories. With the departure of Aimee Kelly at the end of season two, Wolfblood proved that it could lose its leading actress and still be as good as before. By losing and gaining characters, especially in that age group, Wolfblood manages to be incredibly realistic for a show about werewolves – after all, people don’t stay together forever.
