Exclusive to Lifetime in the UK (Sky 156, Virgin 242), the supernatural drama is back for its second series, and promises to be just as full of intrigue, romance and spellbinding magic as the first.
Witches of East End is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Melissa de la Cruz, and follows sisters Freya (Jenna Dewan Tatum, American Horror Story) and Ingrid Beauchamp (Rachel Boston, In Plain Sight) as they discover that they’re actually part of a family of witches. With help from their mother Joanna (Julia Ormond, Mad Men) and Aunt Wendy (Mädchen E. Amick, Twin Peaks), they have to learn how to control and strengthen their magic. But it’s not easy, not with the magical portal of Asgard opening and supernatural enemies converging on their sleepy town. Season two saw the family expand with the arrival of Freya’s twin brother Frederick (Christian Cooke, Demons).
In Monday’s episode, the seventh of season two, there’s a familiar-looking guest star in East End. James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) appears as Tarkoff, a telepath and old friend of the Beauchamp family from Asgard. He’s in town to persuade Frederick into giving his mother a weakening potion. It’s all part of the evil King Nikolaus’s plan to bring the girls back to Asgard. But will Frederick obey his grandfather, or disobey out of love for his family?
Wendy receives a mysterious invitation to an art gala, taking Freya along to keep her company. But what Freya doesn't expect to see is ex-fiance Dash (Eric Winter, The Mentalist) who’s come to the gala with Ingrid, and the almost in-laws spend the night getting closer together. That’s not the biggest source of gossip in the evening, though – the artist turns out to be Wendy’s three-time ex-husband, Ronan (Eddie McClintock, Warehouse 13), who’s invited her to the gala in the hope of winning her back.

Meanwhile, following some strange goings-on, Dash’s younger brother Killian (Daniel Di Tomasso) is beginning to get suspicious of his feelings for Eva (Bianca Lawson, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Who wouldn't, after receiving messages from themselves that they don't remember making?
