The first episodes of The Walking Dead Season Five were absolutely outstanding, and this week was no exception. However, has the ending of this week’s episode maybe set the show up for a downward spiral as the season continues? Let’s hope not...

Speaking of performances, credit also to Sonequa Martin-Green and Chad L. Coleman. Ever since we met Tyreese and Sasha in Season Three, they’ve had a great sibling chemistry, which was never quite as good as it was tonight. Emotions ran high, and the performances from those two were stunning.
Once again, we’re left with a cliffhanger; Michonne investigates the bushes, thinking she’s being watched, only to find Daryl step out. But then Daryl calls back to someone, telling them to come through. Now who could that be? Surely not Carol. They wouldn’t build up so much suspense for someone obvious. Beth, perhaps? After all, that’s who they went after. Although the trailers for the season and for next week’s episode would suggest Beth isn’t quite the same person anymore. Maybe Daryl has brought her back to change her. Or could it be even Morgan? It’s going to be an agonising wait!
Next week looks very Beth-centric, so it’s another chance for Emily Kinney to shine. Overall, another fantastic, emotionally devastating episode from The Walking Dead, even though we have lost a terrific villain.
