For many of us Star Wars fans, the day Disney took over Lucasfilm was a bit of a bittersweet feeling. The joy of knowing that more films would come, particularly the long awaited Third Trilogy (Episodes VII, VIII and IX) was, in a way, blurred by some cancelations like the videogame Star Wars 1313 or the emerging TV show Star Wars Detours and the award winning success Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
The creators of the show, including director Dave Filoni, moved to another TV series, Star Wars Rebels (coming in Fall 2014) where we'll see the birth of the Rebellion, filling in the gap between Episodes III and IV.
But some of the stories in Star Wars: The Clone Wars were unfinished. Until now. Fans can stop mourning, as a whole new season (almost) is going to arrive on Netflix this Friday, March 7th.
Under the title of “The Lost Missions” we'll be able to enjoy thirteen full episodes as well as the entirety of the previous five seasons, with some never before seen director's cut episodes.
The mysterious plot of the creation of the Clone Army by the Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas will have an important presence in these episodes too. Even the devious plan after Order 66 will get some unexpected consequences.
After watching this new trailer, it seems that Filoni and the rest of the people behind The Clone Wars had saved most of the best episodes for us to enjoy in this “last symphony” of the show.
What a great way to warm-up for Star Wars Rebels, and of course, 2015, a whole year of Star Wars amusement with Rebels, the Star Wars Celebration L.A. and yes, (the cherry on top of the cake!) the Christmas release of Episode VII.
