After last week’s shocking climax, the fallout dominates this episode, which is as atmospheric as it is dark. In Murphy’s Law, The 100 proves itself as more than just a teen show, but as a drama that has a lot to say about morality, sacrifice, and “an eye for an eye”. But once again, a thrilling episode is let down by the more stagnant events occurring on the Ark.
Once again, the events on the Ark feel slow and laboured in comparison to the Ground, but there are still interesting developments. The fact that Raven has left, while Abigail is facing execution, move the action there along, but it’s not enough to hold attention, and they only serve to delay the more interesting progression of the Earth storyline.
The 100 continues to surprise, a show far more complex and wonderful than perhaps it first seemed. With the episode’s closing moments, it’s only weakness, too much focus on the Ark, may be coming to an end, and with Murphy in exile, it’s only a matter of time before we get another look at the threat of the Grounders.
