Well, seeing as we are on the cusp of yet another World War or Cold War with North Korea as the tension between them and us arise. The continuous threat of dominance on a global scale has meant we Brits have to call in the one man who can stop it; Sherlock Holmes. Well, hopefully that’s what the BBC had in mind as they sent their critically acclaimed show in the hopes to “Inspire change.”
The idea, like Watson to the titular Holmes, is to coax North Korea out of its shell in a bid to make their country more accessible and open. The programme was broadcast as part of a festival in 2012. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have revealed that they had planned to extend a hand by throwing their best consulting detective at the issue price for just £287.33.
Alongside Sherlock was guilty pleasure The Decoy Bride starring Alice Eve and David Tennant and Jet Li’s Flying Sword of the Dragon Gate. The first episode of season one was screened, marking yet another reach for the super sleuth and hopefully pockets of deerstalker wearing North Koreans, trying to solve mysteries and more.
No word from Sherlock makers about their Asian fans but I could wager a guess at what Sherlock would say…
“dull.”
