The fourth series of Scott and Bailey has hit the ground running. Last week hierarchy changes were introduced as Rachel Bailey was promoted to Detective Sergeant, while Janet Scott kept quiet about having been offered the post beforehand. For good measure, while draining a local mine in the search of a missing person they found a second body, which had been missing for twenty three years.

This show is stylish and well done, but brace yourself, Manchester does not look as pretty twenty-four seven as it does on television. It gives a more realistic insight into the inner workings of the police: the paperwork, the interviews, the office tea club, drinks after work. A welcome break from the more action oriented shows out there.
