Community: Age of Yahoo reminds us all what a goofy, funny, clever show it is, and how lucky we are NBC’s cancellation wasn’t its final death-knell. Parodying Avengers: Age of Ultron, the latest trailer shows us Community doing what it does best: blasting us with pop-culture references, over-the-top dramatics and meta-madness. Wacky costumes, genre episodes, and the usual roster of pop-culture references are sure to continue if the trailer is anything to go by.
Of course, we’ll be seeing a host of new characters this season. We’ve now lost three of the original cast members: Chevy Chase and Donald Glover both left during Season Five, and in September Yvette Nicole Brown announced she was leaving to care for her father. Additionally, Community newbie Jonathan Banks has departed for the crime-ridden pastures of Better Call Saul. New students stepping into the fray include Paget Brewster, Keith David, and Brian Van Holt, and with Dan Harmon still at the helm they’re sure to blend seamlessly into the crazy collection of characters at the beloved second-rate community college.
Season Six runs for thirteen episodes, with two episodes debuting tomorrow night on Yahoo’s streaming service, Yahoo! Screen, before the rest of the series is rolled out on a weekly basis. All we need now is the announcement of a movie, and the fanbase’s fervent rallying cry will have come true!
