After this, there is only one episode left. This season has been so rubbish. I could go on forever but I think I’ll wait until the last episode before I start reflecting/ranting. Let’s just get this one out of the way first.
Brody is repeatedly questioned about his intentions in Tehran, being watched by Javadi. Javadi tells Akbari that Brody could be useful to Iranian propaganda but is not sure if he should be trusted, so suggests that he assess him face to face. Javadi meets with Carrie, where she gives him the cyanide for Brody. Brody is taken to an outside area, arriving at the same time Akbari, who leaves before Brody can get close to inject him. He is then escorted to a house where he meets with Nassrin, Abu Nazir’s widow, who wishes to talk to him and vet him on behalf of Akbari.
Carrie calls Brody, begging him to flee Tehran with her but he refuses, saying he can’t go back. She spots the two Mossad operatives approaching him and warns him. He finds Nassrin, telling her someone tried to kill him and begs for a meeting with Akbari concerning Javadi. They meet, and Brody reveals that Javadi is working for the CIA. After distracting him, Brody hits Akbari around the head and suffocates him with a pillow. He calls Carrie and tells her to get him out of there.
The episode felt very rushed. It took a long time to go absolutely nowhere and as soon as it did go somewhere, it wasn’t nearly as interesting as it should’ve been. It makes you wonder what the next episode will be like: Will it just be Carrie and Brody trying to get out of Tehran? Who knows?
