On 17th November, just in time for Christmas, series five of Emmy-nominated Downton Abbey will be released on Blu-ray and DVD. The show is beloved by critics and audiences alike (having garnered 51 Primetime Emmy nominations for its first four series, amongst other accolades). This boxset will feature all eight episodes, along with an exclusive documentary and special behind-the-scenes featurettes.
The Blu-ray and DVD will also feature the exclusive TV special The Manners of “Downton Abbey”. Historical advisor Alastair Bruce will be taking the audience through the etiquette of how to eat, marry, behave, dress and make money in the 1920s, revealing just how much work goes into making Downton Abbey as accurate as possible. There will also be a sneak peek of the 2014 Christmas episode, along with three separate features. In The Roaring Twenties, we’ll look behind the scenes of series five, looking at changes in fashion and how the house is moving forward. In A Day With Lady Rose, Lily James will be taking an exclusive look at her day on set, and in Behind the Scenes – Day 100, Mrs Patmore and Mrs Hughes will be celebrating the 100th day of filming series five.
