American Horror Story – Oh how fickle you are! After all, you entice with some excellent characters then sort of waste them entirely. You go down brilliant paths only to make a wrong turn and end up back where you started. You feel as though you are heading down the same route as Glee – holding on to all the dazzling tricks whilst failing to remotely bring realistic characters or believably journey’s. It’s as though the whole crew, cast and writers have gone one too many times on the waltzers and have gotten a little dizzy from excitement. So when you have a sniff of something good, it’s going to throw it back up in your face.
The only shining beacon in American Horror Story is that Dandy finally has a character that he can enjoy some quality time with. Chester is the brand new addition that actually pleases the audience. True, his character is completely weird and insane. But the visuals surrounding the moment where he unravels and admits to himself that things are a little wrong are beautifully done. Played extremely well by our favourite Neil Patrick Harris, we actually care about Chester rather than wish he’d stop moaning like some (Jimmy. We’re talking about Jimmy. Who took away his hands? It’s made him even more of a whinge bag than before, Jesus!)
There is no more energy here. This isn’t as in-depth as I could go and it’s because I do not care. I’m not the only one. After all, the entire case of American Horror Story, the writers, and heck even Murphy seem to have given up.
