This week’s episode of Agents of Shield was one of those episodes that jumps backwards and forwards in time so we see what happens to all of the characters. It starts off with the team starting on a mission on a train running through Italy. On it is a package that is being shipped to Ian Quinn (see the last episode.) Our favourite SHIELD operatives use this as a way to hopefully seek out the Clairvoyant. The team split into pairs: Coulson and Simmons, Skye and Fitz, and Ward and May. We see each pair and what happens to them one by one, until all of the smaller plots tie in together at the end for the cliff-hanger ending.
Plus, there are some comedic moments in the episode, contrasting with some of the harder hitting moments. For example, it’s rather humorous to hear Fitz in anything but a Scottish accent, and we beg that we never have to hear Skye sound Scottish again. Also, there was something quite satisfying seeing Ward and Coulson struggling to use the hologram table. It shows that even the bigger members of the team need some help from time to time.
It was the closest thing to any one of the agents dying in an episode to date. I won’t ruin who, but make sure you have your thinking caps on to deal with the first seemingly complicated timeline of events, and get ready for a rollercoaster of emotions.
