Season two of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD might be two months away, but there are two bits of casting news fans will want to hear. Firstly, Cobie Smulders will be back as Maria Hill. Last seen working for Stark Industries, it’s unknown how much she’ll be appearing, but it’s another neat tie-in to upcoming film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
But more importantly, season two will also see genre TV legend Lucy Lawless joining the agents.
Season one of Agents of SHIELD ended with Nick Fury promoting Coulson to Director of SHIELD, and tasking him with rebuilding the organisation following the HYDRA infiltration portrayed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Also, there were hints that Skye’s mysterious parentage might be revealed, as well as the ending implying that Coulson’s not entirely psychologically healthy.
Tomorrow, show creators Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen will be at Comic-Con for the Agents of Shield panel. Perhaps they’ll be giving details about which character Lawless will be playing, or perhaps they’ll have even more Agents of Shield titbits for the fans!
Who do you think Lucy Lawless will be playing?
