Yes, The 100 is back! After a heart-stopping finale at the end of the first series, where do The 100, or what’s left of them, end up? What has happened to the other members of the Ark? Are Bellamy and Finn really dead? by Cookie N Screen I always love a good comeback. In the nineties, Wes Bentley was all the rage. He had made quite a splash in American Beauty as the creepy video camera, drug smoking, angsty teen who was probably the sanest of the entire character list. He then starred in a couple of movies and disappeared from the public view only to re-emerge in teen dystopian romp (and promptly be murdered). Now Bentley is making his debut in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story as the elusive Edward Mordrake. But is his presence welcome in a circus show that is already bursting at the seams with characters and plot threads? by Leah Stone In recent episodes we have seen Coulson’s drawing fits get worse, Simmons get into close shaves at Hydra and Fitz struggles with being left on his own. This week the struggles at SHIELD continue, as Simmons’ work reaches its peak and Coulson finally opens up to Skye (though he doesn’t really have much choice in that matter.) by Cookie N Screen Drugs in the Batman universe have been a source of contention for Bats for a very long time. Just look at Batman Begins with Scarecrow's entire plan centring solely on the drugging of the Narrows, sending people into a frenzy and chaos reigning down on Gotham. Heck, even the original cartoon series and comic books see a dizzying amount of powdered chemicals sending people into crazed attack – The Joker even kills school children using laughing gas so they die a comically tragic death. So naturally, television series Gotham seems to be following the similar vein with a viciously deadly green gas. by Robbie Jones All good things must come to an end, as was the case for True Blood fans this year when the sexy horror show concluded its final season. Sad times, but now you can relive the experience all over again with the Season 1-7 boxset on DVD and Blu-Ray! by Gemma Williams Sleepy Hollow returns with another monster of the week episode which also participated towards the main storyline more than it originally seemed but has the show finally got the balance between story and development? by Cookie N Screen All together now; “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, heroes in a half-shell TURTLE POWER.” Truly, from 1987 to 1996, our little childhoods were swept up the heroes of the mutated loveable pets turned superheroes. If you didn’t sing that in full force, and then proceeded to sing the entire theme song including the side notes (Gimme a break) then you probably missed a large chunk of what made this new generation great (or insane). And you’ll have guessed that it’s the real reason why grown adults are sobbing outside the movie theatres this weekend. by Robbie Jones God bless those of you in America who sit down at nine on a Sunday night to watch Homeland instead of The Walking Dead. We’re only two episodes into Season Five and already the excitement is through the roof. by Julia Lawson The Sorcerer’s Apprentice storyline really took off this week as it crashed head first into day-to-day life in Storybrooke and Anna’s quest in the past Enchanted Forest. Season four of ONCE is well underway and who would have ever thought Fantasia and Frozen would coincide in the same place! Dreams have been answered. by Robbie Jones It’s time for Homeland once again. Please, try to contain your excitement. This week’s Homeland was a master of deceit; for about 35 minutes, it seems like it’s better than it has been this season. It seems like it could be the turning point for the show, and at last it could get back on track. But all of that was just an illusion. All the same problems are still there, now there’s just a little bit of plot thrown in. A cruel trick, Homeland. Very cruel. |
