So, you’ve played the game. You’ve liberated all the outposts (20 times), you’ve got all the weapons, camos and attachments. You’ve found all the drug formulas, collected all the intel, hell you’ve even managed to snag those pesky relics and are top of your game on all the Rakyat challenges. Rook Island has, for all intents and purposes, been conquered. But here’s a crazy idea. What about starting again?

So, you’ve played the game. You’ve liberated all the outposts (20 times), you’ve got all the weapons, camos and attachments. You’ve found all the drug formulas, collected all the intel, hell you’ve even managed to snag those pesky relics and are top of your game on all the Rakyat challenges. Rook Island has, for all intents and purposes, been conquered. But here’s a crazy idea. What about starting again? by Reece Merryweather-Brown Games are amazing. They blend lots of different elements from loads of different mediums, taking things from film, music, literature and mixing it all together and adding the special ingredient ‘interactivity’ to really make it special. But a lot of the time, the music in a videogame is often forgotten. So let’s have a little look at what I think is some of the best original scores in modern video gaming. By Reece Merryweather-Brown Alien Isolation is the upcoming title from SEGA about, yes, you’re right, the Alien Universe. Yes. Again. But I think I really should attract your notice to the singular word there, ‘Alien.’ What does that mean I hear you shout? It means that this game is going to be about the Alien movie, not the Aliens movies. There’s a big difference. Now, instead of mowing down hordes of horrifically animated beasts, you’ll be fighting to survive a singular creature lurking in the halls of a seemingly abandoned space shuttle. Slightly interested? Good. By Reece Merryweather-Brown The time has come to examine the three criminals once again, but this time digging deeper into the fleshy thing we call 'character.' From the ambitious gangbanger to the vicious psycho I'll look closely at what makes these three so unique and full of charm. Well except Trevor. Yeah, definitely no charm in Trevor. By Reece Merryweather-Brown Well, December is upon us at last. Tis the season to be jolly as they say, and for good reason, with Christmas marching steadily down the calendar. However, it seems that the gaming world has neglected poor December. But regardless, the show must go on, as I take a look at the most promising releases this cold winter month. By Reece Merryweather-Brown Well, now that the hype has died down, I think it’s about time we looked at who is really the best character in GTA V. Due to the multiple ways of looking at each character I propose we start with the most important part: their gameplay. By Reece Merryweather-Brown With many ‘survival-horror’ titles flying around these days it would be easy to miss this little downloadable beauty. Created as a side project, beginning life under the company Darkworks and being finished by Ubisoft’s Shanghai studio, it was set back by a host of delays, but finally made it out, shouting its title with glee, in March 2013. While not a horror as such, it definitely quickens the pace more than any triple A title can usually handle (save The Last of Us’ Survivor difficulty, but that’s another article.) By Reece Merryweather-Brown Its that wonderful time of year again, just after Halloween, close to Bonfire Night and within touching distance of Christmas. And so, as sparklers fizzle in the hands of happy men, women and children and large (but safe) explosions crack in the sky, spreading glorious colour throughout the otherwise charcoal-black night, I’ll take a look at the most promising games of November... By Reece Merryweather-Brown Well, it’s October. The month of Halloween. But, up until that time most would prefer to stay within the bright and warm insides of their homes, as oppose to battling the biting winds and darkness that now plagues the world. And so, as the chill sets in and the nights grow longer, I take a look at this month’s most promising games. by Reece Merryweather-Brown. So, it’s getting close to that time, where the next gens become current gens. But, there’s something that you may have missed with all the Playstation 4 and X-box One(no) hype. The Ouya. Yep. That’s a thing. And apparently it’s supposed to be in the running with the big consoles up there. So, without further ado, let’s delve into the console that topped the amount of pre-orders for the X-box One. I love it already. |
