As the title of this article suggests there will be no spoilers when it comes to my thoughts of Telltale’s Games The Walking Dead Season Two, but before I do say anything and if (for some reason) you’re yet to play or complete the first season go away and do that now because the ending for Season One will be spoiler for you otherwise.

By Daniel Lamb ‘Dragon, Dragon! Rock the Dragon! Dragon Ball Z! Dragon, Dragon! Rock the Dragon! Come get me!’ Alright, so lyrically speaking it’s not exactly William Blake, but this was the theme song of a generation. It’s the year 2000, it’s 5:30pm, you’ve just come home from a long day at school learning about Vikings, and now you’re tuned into Cartoon Network. Of course, you are; you don’t want to miss the next exciting episode of Dragon Ball Z! By Ben Mapp To celebrate the UK cinema release of the highly anticipated How To Train Your Dragon 2, we’re looking back at one of the most memorable and recognisable dragons in the history of gaming. Whilst his games seem to have drifted into lowly spin-off territory now (just check out Skylanders, and cringe if you must) but Spyro the Dragon has starred in a grand total of thirteen games, spanning a range of consoles since 1998 – which I think you’ll agree is impressive for any adolescent reptile. The IWG Games Team And so the long journey reaches its end. The final boss is defeated and the gameplay dissolves into a final, rewarding cinematic. But there are some such endings which stand out to us a lot more than others, ensuring that the game in question (whatever it may be) remains on our shelves forever. Here are our favourite endings in gaming. Spoilers galore! By Ben Mapp The release of Ubisoft's highly anticipated Watch Dogs back in May quite upset a few of our writers, myself included. Whilst both story and gameplay were okay, the 360 edition had such shockingly bad visuals it was almost insulting. In an attempt to cheer ourselves up, we're taking a look back at another open world game which was released nearly a year ago. The IWG Games Team Last week we asked you to narrow down just one of your favourite characters from gaming, and whilst it's certainly not easy to settle on just one character out of a whole managerie, you attempted it anyway! We singled some of the most interesting. Only ten made the cut! Did yours? by Cookie N Screen I am not a massive gamer. I wish I were. There are some stellar games out at the moment that tickle my fancy, including the, so I’ve heard, amazing The Last of Us, the creepy Bioshock and I would like to explore the haunting world of Silent Hill because I don’t like to sleep at night. But alas, I am not a gamer; the buzz to pick up a control never seemed to itch in my thumbs and the more I shy away from the consoles, the more I find it hard to relate to it. By Stephen David Hyland Spinning onto our AV channels in 1996, the Crash series made its debut on the PlayStation with the platformer adventure game, simply entitled Crash Bandicoot. This first game of the now well-known and loved series of Crash games gave us an idea of what was to come. Whilst the future of the series has been uncertain since 2008, as Crash has appeared in a number of exclusive mobile game since then - we still have a whole history of this series to look back on. By Reece Merryweather-Brown This year’s E3 has been an explosion of video game content, from gameplay of Mortal Kombat X, to a cinematic trailer of upcoming third-person MMO game, The Division. There’s been such a wide variety of content that it’s hard to pick out the truly amazing releases that stand out from the rest. However, IWGers are some of the most determined folk on these here internets. And you can sure as hell bet we're going to try! By Daniel Lamb “Genesis does what Nintendon’t” was the slogan used to market the Sega Genesis back in the late eighties and early nineties against its fiercest rival, the Super Nintendo. Cute, I think you’ll agree. But as it turned out, what Sega did that Nintendidn’t… was perish. In actual fact, Nintendo did what they continue to do, they adapted and they survived. Indeed, the Nintendo-Sega console war of the eighties and nineties was a real knock-down, drag-out, slobber-knocker of a showdown, but when the dust had cleared and all was said and done, it was Nintendo who were left standing tall. |
