Why PC gaming is awesome

As I sat here and look at my current setup I have my Wii U, PS4 and beneath both of them is the beast that is my gaming PC. Honestly, it’s my favourite platform to game on. I’m going to list my reasons why I believe it trumps the console counterparts. I also promise to try and avoid a “PC Master Race” standpoint.

It's one of the most disappointing feelings a gamer can experience - you fall in love with a game, find out it has a sequel (or sequels), play said sequel and – low and behold – it doesn't quite live up to the expectations. This can be for a variety of reasons; bad story, poor voice acting, clunky and repetitive gameplay - if you can name them, they're probably all in a bad sequel in some form or another. Every gamer, myself included, has fallen prey to a bad sequel. With that in mind, and in no particular order, here are a pick of five worst sequels in gaming.

From Games to Movies - Who Should Play Our Heroes?

Over the last year it has been revealed that game franchises such as Ratchet & Clank, Assassin’s Creed and The Last of Us will be receiving the big screen treatment. With that in mind, we have decided to offer some casting guidance to other big brand developers who may also be considering the transition from game to film. We feel that as lovers on both games and films it is therefore our duty to ensure that future movies based on games should only be done if they are done right.

Irrational Games "Winding down"

Sad news today as Ken Levine announced that the studio responsible for the BioShock series will be significantly reducing its workforce, and concentrating on 'narrative-driven games for the core gamer'. Irrational is due to be closed down, in its current form, after the last Infinite DLC is released.

In a statement on the Irrational website, Levine paid tribute to the 'some of the best game developers in the world', and admitted whilst there was 'no great way to lay people off', his passion had turned to 'making a different kind of game'. There's no indication as yet what the new material might be, but it will only be distributed digitally and will be published by Take-Two Interactive, who also published BioShock Infinite and its associated DLC. The closing of the studio won't mean the end of the BioShock universe as 2K are taking over the IP.
