By Reece Merryweather-Brown The time has come to examine the three criminals once again, but this time digging deeper into the fleshy thing we call 'character.' From the ambitious gangbanger to the vicious psycho I'll look closely at what makes these three so unique and full of charm. Well except Trevor. Yeah, definitely no charm in Trevor. Franklin Franklin’s your typical gangbanger type. He hangs out with his n-word Lamar, messing up rival gangs, boosting cars for crooked business men and that’s all there is to him really. At least, that’s what he would’ve been if he’d been handed to anyone other than Rockstar games. But instead, that’s only what he looks like on the surface. If you dig deeper, you realise he’s not just another hood, he wants something more, something better than poppin’ caps in people and jackin’ people’s cars. He wants something bigger than what ‘the hood’ can give him, and he wants to win back the girl of his dreams Tanisha. He may not be perfect, but he’s a lot more morally just than the rest of the trio on this list. Michael On the surface, Michael’s your average retiree Dad. Beautiful wife, annoying kids, nice house. But again, like Franklin, there’s something much deeper to good ol’ Michael. In his glory days Michael was a renowned bank robber and he was good at his job. It was only until he was cornered by the FIB that he had to make a deal: a deal that would save his skin, but double cross his best friend. He took the easy way out, preferring to ditch his old gang and get away from it all. He does what’s best for his family, but just like another ‘family man’ (*cough* Walter White *cough* [pun slightly intended]) what’s best for his family is always debatable. Trevor On the surface Trevor’s a psychopath. He’s a cannibalistic, necrophilic, mad-man with an insatiable hunger for chaos and destruction. But deeper still...he’s a cannibalistic, necrophilic mad-man. But even with his almost constant blood lust and unstoppable rage he’s got a soft side that he only shows to the truly special people in his life. All in all, Trevor’s not that much of a bad guy. Sure, his homicidal tendencies put him far from civil, but his unrelenting loyalty makes him a great character.
