Back when this game was first announced I honestly wasn't sure where I stood with it. I've been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series for many years but I was well aware that this wouldn't remotely play like any title before it. Essentially, this is Dynasty Warriors wrapped up in a Zelda skin.

So the problem for me before buying Hyrule Warriors was the fact that Nintendo have turned the traditional adventure RPG style of their near perfect franchise, into a mere hack and slash-fest. To be blunt, I never thought this game would appeal to me, but how wrong I was.

As I sat and watched my latest legendary engram be decrypted into inventory materials after countless hours of grinding and playing through the same missions over and over and over, Destiny has started to lose that shiny new-game appeal.

By Jamie Lambert

The Phoenix Wright games are packed with interesting and unique characters, from the rookie spirit medium Maya Fey to the horribly unlucky MaggeyByrde. Throughout the series, the deepest and most intricate characters might be the titular Phoenix Wright himself, as well as his rival Miles Edgeworth. Through his interactions with other characters and with flashbacks and references to his earlier life, we see how this confident and talented attorney became how we see him now. When we first meet our protagonist, he’s a nervous rookie attorney taking on his first case. Relying heavily on his mentor, he gets through the case and his childhood friend Larry Butz is found not guilty...

It's taken some time but I'm finally getting back to telling you more about The Sims 4. Sorry it's taken so long but I've become quite addicted.

In spite of all this new stuff, in some ways The Sims 4 goes back to basics. When your Sim goes to work or school, they vanish off to an unknown location, and when visiting community lots or neighbours’ homes there’s a loading screen and any Sims you didn’t bring with you are greyed out.

Censorship through age restriction - An effective policy?

9/23/2014

It’s an infrequent but vexing side-effect of gaming’s universal appeal that sometimes lawmakers will fling needless projectiles to halt the controversial, objectionable, harmful, sensitive, politically incorrect or inconvenient material of video games.  Removal of materials that are salacious or otherwise considered morally uncertain is constrained on behalf of the safety of under-aged infants and parents.

On Friday the 12th of September, under very specific circumstances, a small portion of Nintendo Club members received a number of download codes for the Super Smash Bros 3DS demo a week before public release. Though I was not personally one of those to receive codes, I was lucky enough to have 'Links' with people who were.

Heroes of Nostalgia: Pac-man

9/17/2014

By Paul Robert Scott

The gaming world has developed an entire pantheon of heroes and icons over the years. Nintendo arguably has the most recognisable with Mario, Yoshi, Pikachu and Link, among many others, while Sega has Sonic. Then there are the more adult mascots like Lara, Master Chief and Snake that are instantly recognisable to all the initiated gamers out there. But you have to remember that once upon a time there were no such gaming gods. There had to be a first. There had to be Pac-man...

By Ben Mapp

This Friday finally sees the western release of the hotly-anticipated Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U, which features the hack n' slash gameplay style of the popular Dynasty Warriors series, mixed in with characters, weapons and settings from the iconic Legend of Zelda franchise.

The game has already enjoyed moderate success over in Japan where it released last month, but will it help the Wii U get ready to sell this Christmas?
