Anyone who followed the events of E3 (and its aftermath) will be well aware of the controversy surrounding Ubisoft's decision to not include any playable female assassins in their upcoming installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise, Assassin's Creed: Unity.

This year’s E3 has been an explosion of video game content, from gameplay of Mortal Kombat X, to a cinematic trailer of upcoming third-person MMO game, The Division. There’s been such a wide variety of content that it’s hard to pick out the truly amazing releases that stand out from the rest.

However, IWGers are some of the most determined folk on these here internets. And you can sure as hell bet we're going to try!

So the excitement of E3 is over for another year, and we took the opportunity to ask some of our writers what they thought of the recent conferences and if there was a clear winner this year. Despite the differing opinions, everyone seems to be in agreement that EA's conference just blatantly sucked.

After their performance at E3 this year and the vast amount games announced I feel that Nintendo have shown their importance and why their system(s) are worth having.

Games, Games And Games.

This is what this years Xbox conference was all about, This is what Xbox owners wanted. This is what I wanted to see a lot more off. I mean what makes a games console? The games! Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer walked onto the stage to recognise not only the developers creating games for the Xbox platform, but Xbox's fans and their competitors in the console war, Playstation and Nintendo.

If you tuned in to watch Sony's E3 conference then you probably heard the many buzz words and phrases thrown around during a presentation that was wholly underwhelming. While there were quite a few games that actually caught my attention, the rest of it as a unit was boring and I continually longed for it to end. Having been raised on Sony products I found this to be massively disappointing. This is no Xbox/Nintendo fangirl hate I'm dishing out. The presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't up to the standard set by last year’s E3 presentation, although to be fair how can anyone measure up to an E3 with two console release announcements?

Ubisoft have become one of the more revered gaming companies in recent years, having been responsible for such successful franchises as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell and Rayman. The wonderful Aisha Tyler returned to host their E3 press conference last night, during which a range of upcoming titles were unveiled, each to be released over the course of the next year.

E3 season is well underway with the leakage of this year's first new trailer for upcoming tactical espionage sequel, Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain!

Set in 1985, the plot of MGSV deals with the violent aftermath of Ground Zeroes, the game's controversial 'prologue' chapter which was released earlier this year, and stars 24's Kiefer Sutherland as the haunted super soldier, Big Boss.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (New Trailer)

Gearbox seem to be ramping things up for their latest installment in the Borderlands franchise, having just released a new trailer only hours ago, "The Pre-Sequel Moon Dance" trailer, hot off the heels of the Handsome Jack Pre-Sequel trailer they released a few weeks back. Things for the Pre-Sequel look very promising if the latest trailer is anything to go by.

Dying Light - E3 Trailer

Dying Light is an upcoming first-person, story-driven survival game set in a post-apocalyptic setting filled with hordes of the undead. It is developed by Techland will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive when it arrives on both current and next-gen systems early next year.
