Free with PS Plus - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

6/10/2015

Picture

Ground Zeroes
is basically a two hour (or thereabouts) long demo for the latest installment in the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which is due for release later this year. I am not the only one who has said this, as countless other articles and reviewers have said it before me.

John's E3 Predictions - Part Two

6/8/2015

Picture
by John Philip Jennings

E3 is just next week, and although many titles have already been shown off (Fallout 4 anyone?) we know to expect a wealth of new information over the course of the conferences. Will Ubisoft be able to fulfill their promises this year? Will Microsoft continue to pledge their allegiance to gamers (as penance for their disastrous E3 two years ago)? And will Bethesda conquer all?

Here are my thoughts.

Greenvale - A Traveller's Guide

6/7/2015

Picture
by Graham Osborne

Situated in the most rural of spots in the state of Washington, Greenvale (much like its sister town Twin Peaks) is home to a number of scenic views and fascinating places of interest to visit. Yes, indeed, Greenvale has it all. Just remember to bring an umbrella, it experiences high precipitation throughout the year and the town can easily grind to a halt because of a superstition about a mysterious killer who stalks the area dressed in a raincoat and wielding an axe in the rain. But we have it on good authority
from Sheriff George Woodman that this is nothing more than hearsay and conjecture.

XCOM 2 - What We Know And What To Expect

6/4/2015

Picture
by Paul Robert Scott

It's been an exciting week for gaming news. We've had trailers galore and more than enough to whet our appetites for the coming year, but while the rest of the team are gushing over Fallout 4  and Rise of the Tomb Raider I have my eye firmly set on saving the world in the sequel to 2012's XCOM Enemy Unknown.

Overly Sexualised Gaming #5 - Dudette Edition

6/3/2015

Picture
by Ben Mapp

Are you sitting comfortably? You've seen the dudes, so now it's time to meet the dudettes. Over the years, the video game industry has brought forth arguably some of the sexiest (and most shameless) vixens in fiction. So much so that it would be virtually impossible for us to make mention of them all.

However we've tried to narrow down a top five (in no particular order) who I find to be the most compelling. Perhaps its their fashion sense. Perhaps its their personalities. Perhaps its either or neither. Check them out.

Fallout 4 - Watch the Official Trailer NOW!

6/3/2015

Picture
by William John

War. War never changes. And HOLY SHIT, it's happening again! After years of speculation and unending rumours, we finally have official confirmation of Fallout 4 with this stunning trailer! The trailer kicks off in true Fallout fashion, pulling back from a screen to reveal the wreckage of a retro-futuristic home, before briefly flashing back to a pre-war, untouched home, where we see a young couple comfort a baby, whilst the radio announcer talks of nuclear weapons being launched. Then, it's a mad rush to nearby Vault 111, inter-cut with images of a worn and tired looking dog traversing the wasteland, searching for his owner.

Fallout 4 - What do we want to see?

6/3/2015

Picture
by William John

At 3pm (UK time) yesterday, Bethesda reignited the Fallout 4 hype in the most exciting way possible, they launched a website. Okay, so that doesn't sound too impressive, but what was on the website could be described as a genius piece of marketing. No details, no launch dates, no trailers, instead it just showed the now famous amongst Fallout  fans 'Please stand by' screen, in all its retro-futuristic glory. And in the center, a 24 hour countdown. (Nuclear) winter is coming!

So with the trailer now released , here's a list of things we'd like to see from Fallout 4.

Splatoon - Review

5/31/2015

Picture
by Adam Playle

The newest game for the Wii U, Splatoon, can be summed up in one word - addictive. I picked it up on release day and put it on the moment I was home, burning away the remaining hours of the evening on this third-person shooter. Nintendo have always put a great deal of effort into their games over the years, and their game series are some of the most famous in video game history. Splatoon is a new franchise with no predecessor titles, but it has all the charm and charisma of other Wii U releases.

Splatoon - First Impression

5/28/2015

Picture
by Luke Kirby

With the release of Nintendo’s new IP Splatoon, it only seems right to discuss what I’ve learnt from the two instances of the Global Testfire demo made playable on the 9th and 23rd of May. Before diving into certain aspects of the game for those unaware it only seems right to explain what Splatoon actually is.
