It's been a real dogfight between Microsoft and Sony over the last year. Both the Xbox One and PS4 were released more or less at the same time, and the ensuing chaos that preceded Christmas 2013 as gamers tried getting their hands on their preferred choice meant that shelves were quickly emptied. However, as the dust has cleared over 2014 it has appeared that the clear winner of this console battle was indeed Sony's entry into the eight generation. Yet as we get closer to Christmas again, it may be that Microsoft are finally beginning to catch up.
This revelation might come as no small surprise when you consider the most recent titles to come out. With Halo: The Master Chief Collection having become the first thing on many gamer's Christmas lists and the eccentric looking Sunset Overdrive turning heads, it could just be that many gamers are suddenly seeing the more immediate benefits of getting their hands on the machine.
Whether this allows Microsoft to catch up completely with Sony's success is yet to be seen, but if the Xbox can keep hold of enough special gems in its exclusives catalogue then it might just be possible.
All in one. Input one.
