Why delaying GTA V for PC isn't a bad thing

Almost a year and a half from it's initial release on last-gen consoles, Grand Theft Auto V has still not yet been released on PC. In case you missed their announcement last week, Rockstar have officially declared a March release date - delaying the game a final time in order to make it ready for a stable PC launch.

Rockstar have also yet to fulfill their promise of in-game heists, which were shown to be in development since before the game first launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. With the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports of the game having been released just last November, praise was sung from the rooftops for it's revamped graphics, additional content and the exciting new FPS mode (which adds a new dynamic to the gameplay). But after a series of delays, Grand Theft Auto V is yet to see it's debut onto the ultimate master platform. The game was originally set for the 27th January, but Rockstar have instead decided to release it on the 24th March. From a PC gamer's perspective this could be seen as a good thing. This extra time allows for Rockstar to iron out any glitches and bugs. I feel like the wait is worth it for that alone, especially after the lessons Ubisoft taught the world (after the disastrous release of Assassin's Creed: Unity last year). Interestingly, this isn't the first time Rockstar has delayed a title in order to give it that extra polish for gamers. GTA IV was released for consoles a whole eight months before the PC version, while Max Payne 3 was released on PC less than a month after its console counterparts. Still waiting for that Red Dead Redemption port though!

I believe we should all stop complaining about the push back and put all of our faith in Rockstar to come out with one hell of a port. But seriously Rockstar, still waiting on a Red Dead port.
It is possible that another reason for these delays is for Rockstar to synchronize the launch of Heists (a teaser of which you can check out below) with the launch of the PC version.
Rockstar have apologized profusely for the latest delay of the game, but have offered San Andreas as a bonus if you pre-order before the beginning of February. I trust that Rockstar will release a port that fulfills the PC capabilities.

'I know you've been complaining, but you weren't ready!'

One of the exciting things about GTA V's eventual PC release is that we'll finally get to see the gamers get more creative with the game than ever before. Rockstar have already introduced modes for building deathmatches and races, but once the modding community get their hands on this mammoth who knows what glorious amendments they will make to Los Santos.

Will you be buying the PC version when it finally gets released in March?
