The BBC adaptation of Sherlock is by far the most ingenious and has ignited the passions of many a fan. Increasing its audience to the high million numbers, thousands upon thousands of people across the globe travel the bouts of London, dress up as their favourite characters and re-watch the series over again. After a tentative two years poised forever on a cliff hanger, the third season came with in a rush and a big bang, leaving just as quickly. Now we are left with the remains in our heart and nothing to pass the time…
If you are a massive fan of the show then this is a game to keep your itching fingers occupied. Feeling more like Professor Layton, you have to solve numerous amount of puzzles and keep them stored in your mind palace. There are the usual find the routes, arrange the cars and find the clues with riddles and then there is the more advance vocal encryption that there is one major game play, the kidnapping of Mrs Hudson, the story goes into tangents to keep you occupied. Entering the mind palace, following the clues plus being utterly immersed in the world of London can be quite exhilarating at first, especially with our plucky detective informing you of updates in the luscious voice.
The Network is certainly a labour of love though and for those who aren’t massive gamers but love everything Sherlock, the effort put into creating this game. The videos and voice clips from Sherlock, Watson and Mycroft, (with all gratitude going to actors Cumberbatch, Gatiss and Freeman) are enough to propel this game into a treat. But for avid gaming fans and people with a short attention span, there isn’t enough here to truly to keep you going for the long haul.
