Sony announced a horror title called "P.T." at their pre-Gamescom press conference last Tuesday. A demo become available shortly after the announcement and what greeted fans was a smooth two hour demo which can possibly be classified as the scariest two hours of anyone's life.
The P.T. had players walking a "never-ending loop" corridor, interacting with various objects to progress the trailer forward until it finally ends with the Silent Hills reveal. The main character you've been controlling is shown to be Norman Reedus (of The Walking Dead fame) and the camera watches as he walks down a street and the screen eventually fades to white, Silent Hills flashing across the screen. Whilst details are still sparse, Kojima has stated that he and Del Toro are aiming to make the game as scary as they possibly can without wanting to deter people from playing it. Whilst cryptic, it means we can expect more of what was included in P.T. - massive doses of psychological terror and horror as well as the jump-scare moments. It was also revealed that Silent Hills wouldn't be made using a third party developer, Kojima saying that his own studio, Kojima Productions will be making the game.
The P.T. was made available for the PS4 and it is unclear at this time as to whether or not that means that Silent Hills will purely be a PS4 exclusive. The P.T. is available for download for PS4 from Playstation Store now. For those who can't share in the horror, however, please get a taste in the trailer below.
Well I'll be leaving the lights on...
