Lego video games have been with making popular franchises and classics and re-adapting them since the PS2 era, and since then Traveller's Tales have delivered Lego adaptations of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now they're giving us their most interesting take on a beloved movie series yet.
Like its predecessors, the game will likely focus on a combination of visual humour and puzzle solving in a mostly side-scrolling 3D environment, but feature a hub world (likely to be the park itself as featured in the films) for the player character(s) to explore and play around in. This would fall in line with most previous Lego games which have featured limited sandbox play as well as mission-based levels to navigate through. The game will also feature countless playable characters and dinosaurs which have appeared throughout the series so far. Since Lego games are generally well received for their visual comedy as well as their easily accessible, simplistic gameplay - this might well turn out to be the most highly rated of any Jurassic Park gaming adaptation. Even Telltale Games (a developer responsible for some of the most unforgettable story-driven games, such as The Walking Dead, Back to the Future and more recently Game of Thrones) struggled to create an interesting world using this license, marking their only badly-rated episodic series.
Lego Jurassic World will be available in June for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. Here is the teaser:
'Life finds a way...'
Do you think that Lego Jurassic World will live up to the reputation of its predecessors, or will the license once again fall flat in the gaming world?
