It's been a week where the gaming community at large has taken over headlines as opposed to developers. You can see below what we mean as we take a look at the stories that have grabbed our attention this week.
Upgrade your old gear in House of Wolves DLC
This means weapons can be increased to a maximum damage of 365 from 331 while upgrading armour can bring you to the new 34 level cap.
More information on upgrading gear can be found here.
Killing Floor 2 is not taking your shit
The clause found under “Cheats, Cheating and Abusive Behaviours,” reads:
“We also will not tolerate anyone using the game, or any servers or forums provided for the game, to be continually or repeatedly abusive to other players. This includes, but is not limited to, ‘griefing,’ racist bigotry, sexism or any other forms of ‘cyber bullying.’ We will also not tolerate anyone hosting servers for the game where such behaviors are continually or repeatedly allowed to take place.”
If found to commit acts listed as above the individuals CD key will be revoked and they will be banned from the Killing Floor 2 servers.
Honestly this seems like a good idea to get rid of toxic behaviour however what people are offended by is subjective, of course there are some comments or phrases that aren’t acceptable regardless but if one person is offended by a comment while the majority aren’t yet that individual reports them and gets the person who made the comment banned is that fair?
Square Enix at E3
The event will be streamed on Twitch on Tuesday the 16th of June. It’s highly likely that games such as Final Fantasy XV, Just Cause 3 or Dues Ex: Mankind Divided will feature but there’s always a possibility of surprise announcements.

Modders can now sell their work through Steam
Modding can cause issues in that some mods aren’t compatible with other or they don’t work as well as promised. To remedy this Valve has a refund policy available in place for premium mods. If you install a broken mod you have 24 hours after purchase to get a refund.
The premium mod option will allow users to support the mods/modders they like and creators of the mods are free to enable a pay what you want option as well which would help support future projects.
While this is all seems well and good there have already been issues concerning selling of mods. One of the mods available was titled “Art of the Catch” which centred around fishing however it’s already been pulled down from Steam Community after accusations it contains the work of other modders, seems like Valve have opened up a can of worms… essentially the main issue is that assets used in this mod is from a mod created by someone else. I can’t help but relate this to companies accusing/suing each other over patent infringements. I have a feeling there will be plenty more stories like this as time goes on.

More news as we get it.
Personally this whole business of forcing gamers to be nice to each other seems like a good idea. A more harmonious atmosphere will sure appeal to a wider range of people and encourage them to game online.
