Well, I fear it's been quite some time since our last roundup and we're even a little late this time, but nevertheless we're back yet again with more gaming news.
Singer blows the whistle
Now this information isn’t particularly new but this is the first time that someone involved in Metal Gear Solid V has commented on this situation to such an extent.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to take advantage of PC goodness
The PC version will adopt Microsoft’s Direct X 12 API, over AMD’s Mantle API, along with AMD’s Tress FX 3.0.
Eidos has developed a new engine for its latest title in the Deus Ex series, the Dawn Engine which will ideally make their future titles look as aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Jump scares for the big screen
The latest development in the FNAF series involves a movie adaptation, because we all know how well games transition onto the big screen. Taken from Gamnesia:
Warner Bros. is leading the production of a Five Nights at Freddy’s film. It is being produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, as well as Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions. Creator Scott Cawthon will be involved in some capacity as well.
No voice chat for Splatoon
"Not that you’ll be able to hear any cussing yourself: Splatoon has no voice chat now, and it never will. You can blame the infamous toxicity of online players for that. “This is coming from personal experience. When I played online games, I didn’t like the negativity I got and people telling me, ‘You’re crap. Go away.’ So we wanted to focus on the positive aspects of online gaming.”
Amano admits this approach means missing out on a feature that makes online play stand out for many players. “I don’t want you to misunderstand—I’m not denying having chat in an online game does contribute to fun. But, as we’ve said, we want to grab new people."
I’m sure there’ll be mixed reactions to this line of reasoning but personally I’m all for it, I’ve never enjoyed kids kicking my ass at online shooters and then telling me how bad I am in the most delightful ways.
GTA V wants ALL the graphics
The graphics options menu features many of the essential you would expect for a PC title but they also include hardware specific options such as AMD CHS & Nvidia PCSS (both shading effects) so it seems that real effort has been put into the PC version of the game.
You can see all the features on a KitGuru article and/or a video provided by The Know.
Monster Hunter Stories announced for 3DS
As of yet all that’s out for is a cinematic trailer for the game which indicates a 2016 release in Japan and hopefully we will see the game come over to the West for 3DS devices.
