2015 is set to be a year that just keeps giving to gamers with a metric ton of games to be excited for, which may leave your wallets, purses and bank accounts feeling a bit a light but you know it’s worth it. So without further ado I present to you some of the games I’m most looking forward to and purchasing this year.

The Order 1886
Ready at Dawn,
SCE Santa Monica Studio

Picture
A PS4 exclusive and also another treat for the eyes, The Order 1886 is set in alternate-reality London where werewolves are rife as well as others who would like to see nothing more than you dead. Though the seems to be mainly about being behind cover and over the wall shooting it looks ridiculously fun and the arsenal of weapons your character possess looks phenomenal and deadly. The steampunk-ish elements to the game certainly lend it a nice angle and from I’ve seen of gameplay it appears to be well polished. I’d imagine this would be a game many PS4 owners would add to the library for their console.

Released February 20th.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
Gearbox Software

Picture
Borderlands is a series I’ve loved since its first installation with the wacky characters, numerous weapons, art style, skill trees and so on. Despite playing and beating every game in the franchise, I was overjoyed with the announcement of The Handsome Collection containing Borderlands 2 (with every piece of DLC) and Borderlands – The Pre-sequel which are two great games, however I was somewhat disappointed with the exclusion of the first game which I felt could have drawn in a lot more people who have never played the franchise. Though I guess it is the Handsome Collection so it makes sense. One feature I love is the four player local co-op which is greatly appreciated; imagine friends, beer, pizza and blowing up psychos. Sounds fun right?

Released March 24th.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
CD Projekt RED

Picture
Though I’m yet to complete a single Witcher game (I tried the first and I just wasn’t absorbed into it) from Wild Hunt has sparked my interest in the RPG series. The game truly looks gorgeous and worthy of that next-gen status that has been pushed by the new consoles. I also have to applaud CD Projekt RED for delaying the release of their game until May in order to squash as many bugs as possible in order to give players the best experience possible. It truly does seem like one of the more ambitious games of the year with a map bigger than Skyrim I’m expecting Wild Hunt to give new consoles a good workout.

Released May 19th.

Xenoblade Chronicles X
Monolith Soft

Picture
Again another game series which I’ve been unable to play is the predecessor (hailed as one the best action role playing games) to upcoming Wii U exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles X. Nevertheless I am very much looking forward to this game, a huge open world with various environments, giant creatures roaming the land which you can do battle with and even mechs that the character can control and traverse the world with. To me it’s hitting a lot of check boxes and also considering that the Wii U is a lot less powerful than the competition Monolith still manage to produce a game that is pleasant to the eyes.

Release TBA 2015.

Zelda U
Nintendo

Picture
Another Wii U exclusive and by far my most anticipated game of 2015 is Zelda U, since it was first teased at E3 I was amazed at the lush environment and how expansive it was claimed to be. My excitement was to further grow when gameplay footage was shown at The Game Awards of the expansive world and it looked gorgeous as well as enjoyable. My only concern was the thought that whether there will be enough to do in this open world; treasures to find, dungeons and so on however I have faith in Nintendo to produce an amazing Zelda title regardless.

Release TBA 2015.

Stay tuned!

But that's not all! We'll be updating our list with more upcoming titles throughout the month. 2015 is looking to be one of the most interesting years for gaming for a very, very long time.
