9/8/2014

As the title of this article suggests there will be no spoilers when it comes to my thoughts of Telltale’s Games The Walking Dead Season Two, but before I do say anything and if (for some reason) you’re yet to play or complete the first season go away and do that now because the ending for Season One will be spoiler for you otherwise.

Nintendo announces new DLC, new franchises and new 3DS

9/1/2014

The folks at Nintendo have been rather busy recently so I thought it would be nice to accumulate all this information into one place so you lovely people don’t have to go anywhere else. To start off we were told recently about a new Pokémon project in the works and we were given Pokken, a cross between Pokémon and Tekken (naturally), however this seems to only be available in Japanese arcades next year. I must admit I felt foolish for getting my hopes up for a home console Pokémon game, oh well I can still dream.

Fortunately I think I've finally figured out what mine were. although the competition was very high. So without any more ado, here are my top five gaming triumphs from last year.

Nintendo at E3 - Smash Bros, Star Fox and Zelda

6/14/2014

Picture

This year Nintendo needed to show consumers why, as a company, they are still strong competitors against the likes of Microsoft and Sony. After their performance at E3 this year and the vast amount games announced I feel that Nintendo have shown their importance and why their system(s) are worth having.

To Reboot or Not to Reboot? That is the question

6/7/2014

Everyone is clear on what a reboot entails.

Just take games that are years old and give them a new lease on life through completely refreshing the storyline or adding new elements to the gameplay. Ideally a reboot will aim at keeping fans of the already existing franchise interested in the new iteration, while also attracting a new fan base to get involved in the series. Whether this actually happens though is another story altogether.

The Legend of Zelda - The Wii U Waker

5/29/2014

It’s been almost three years since Nintendo fans were teased with a tech-demo of The Legend of Zelda on Wii U. We were shown a Twilight Princess graphical-style, in glorious HD. It showed an immense battle between Ghoma and Link ensue within a vast and ancient hall. Nintendo went on to highlight some of the capabilities the 'new' gamepad had to offer in at E3 such as changing the time of day to demonstrate new lighting effects, as well as switching camera angles. But there hasn’t been much information at all since. However Eiji Anouma promised he would say more about the new Zelda Wii U title to IGN at E3 in 2014, and my body is ready.

Anticipated Games - Super Smash Bros (Wii U and 3DS)

5/24/2014

Since the franchise first started on the Nintendo 64 back in 1999 I’ve been an avid fan and loved every game in the series, which is odd for me as I usually despise the majority of fighting games. Jump to 2014 and the world is graced with another Smash Bros title on not just the home console of the Wii U but also the amazing handheld that is the 3DS, with the 3DS edition to be released in the summer and the Wii U version out in the winter… I’m expecting console bundles for the Christmas period.
